Isn't the PPDC a government funded military group? I doubt swearing between comrades on official channels would be allowed, especially to the Marshal. Narrow hips is a bad design on mechs... Especially since all that weight from the waist up would be focused there. Makes hitting it an obvious weak point no matter how reinforced and if the new enemy is more intelligent than kaijus (who were getting smarter to begin with) They WILL exploit the hell out of it. Anyway, nice fic.

Will any of teh characters from the movie be in future chapters?

Also what if a kaiju did escape the closing of the rift? Another Knifehead? I mean in the movie Newt Geiszler and Hermann Gottleib linked with a kaiju brain. What if this kaiju remembered those two, but with the rift gone is no longer under the control of the aliens? How would the kaiju behave with their control link gone? They only attacked because they were ordered to do so or controlled by the aliens. Without their control how would this Knifehead behave?

I feel like this has potential, but I think we could use a little more explanation and backstory. While the idea is clever, in my opinion, I think you could maybe have used something like a prologue that establishes what the situation is. Also, something to establish who the characters are. For example, in the movie, we get to see the main character doing what he was meant to do: fighting giant monsters in giant robots. It might not be much, but its the characters identity, and what we are meant to associate with him. Now this is a nitpick, but I feel that too many of the characters are girls. That's fine in a story, but again, you need to establish character, and plot.

All in all, this has, again, has potential. Just needs some more polishing. Hope you can continue.
