Amaati chapter 23 . 8/26 This fic... Is. Amazing. I love it so so much. Theres so much I want to say! Okay, starting off with the plot. I think you handled the topic of mental health, self harm and depression really well. Showing how things in Raven's life gradually got worse leading her to try to commit suicide s so heartbreaking. You really put the readers in Raven's shoes and help us understand why she felt like the suicide was the only option for her. I really love how you're taking on these issues without glorifying it. Also, Raven's relationship with her mother in this fic just broke me. I love all the poetry written in their relationship. The violets Arella couldnt give to Raven but instead Raven must grow them instead. How, even with them barely being able to see each other while they were alive, they both love each other so dearly. Thank you for writing about their relationship. I think They don't get enough appreciation and you did them justice. I also love Bruce here. I was thinking he might be a little standoffish to Raven since shes a half demon, but I'm glad he just treated her like a girl in need. Robin and Bruce's relationship also being addressed in this fic... amazing. I know you also did that in "The Red Right Hand", but it's different here since Robin is still leader of the titans, still trying to be unlike Bruce, be his person and figure his life out. Okay Robin... absolutely love him in this fic. You see he's many mistakes when dealing with Raven's depression. His inability to understand why she hurts herself, and why she chose to commit suicide, is very realistic. Robin slowly learning that people bear pain differently, and sometimes they bear too much pain for too long. Him coming to terms he can't always save Raven, that simply standing by her side letting her know hes there for her is enough. Phenomenal. I really love the robrae here. How they both misunderstood each othera, and how they're growing as people in this fic. Raven being dependent on Robin while she should be independent. Robin wanting to save her from everything, learning sometimes people need to save themselves. The development in this fic is so beautiful. Topics like suicide and mental health can be very difficult, and while we're reading through the mind of someone who is depressed, you balance out with a hopeful future. To the readers theres no complete hopelessness, and you did really well writing our a slow recovery. You mix in bits of humor in a a very grim place, Raven trying to trick Dr. Graves in to being let in to the open ward, and him seeing right through it LOL. Idk why but made me laugh for a good minute. Also! I am so curious, I want to know more about the plotline with Harley, and the envelope Robin has! I know you haven't updated since 2016, but I really do hope you continue this. I really love this story, it's so well written and so so good. Honestly it's reminded me I need to focus on my mental health and anxiety too. Your story really helped me make the first step. Thank you for sharing your absolutely wonderful fic with us. I hope you can finish this! |
Rainbow Prime chapter 4 . 4/29/2019 Wait a second here...if Raven truly wanted to kill herself, why take a bottle of sleeping pills? Why do it somewhere where someone could find her? It would have been much easier for her to fly out of the tower, over to the nearest ocean, fly high enough for the water to act like concrete when she hits it, and then stop flying. |
Rainbow Prime chapter 1 . 4/29/2019 Technically speaking, though, for Raven, killing herself before the prophecy can come true would actually be an extremely SELFLESS thing for her to do. |
jltvaughn chapter 23 . 9/19/2018 Oh, I hope you are able to finish this at some point. Now I am emotionally invested in some kind of road to recovery and maybe happiness for these characters. I know life gets in the way of writers lose their motivation, but it always makes me so sad when the best of these stories have no conlusion. This really is one of the best fan fics I have read and it is such an important topic. In any case, I hope you are doing well! This kind of story can really take a lot out of you. |
jltvaughn chapter 16 . 9/19/2018 This is an amazing story and is extremely relatable for me, unfortunately. Very few people understand what it's like to be so depressed that you contemplate taking your own life. You just don't, unless you have been there. No one wants to talk about it because it is so shameful in our society, and mental illness is is like the worst label you can have. People look at you and treat you completely different if they find out you have a mental illness, especially if you have tried suicide. Almost like you are an invalid after that, like you are not a complete person afterwards. So to read this and relate to the realism of it makes you feel not so alone. What you are saying is so important! Even though I am crying with every chapter I read, it's therapeutic in a way. So thank you for writing this! On a lighter note, p!ease keep going with Red Right Hand because I am addicted to it. The way you write Raven and Richard together is exactly the reason I ship the He'll out of them! |
Kingswriter chapter 8 . 9/14/2018 good god this hits close to home |
BaronVladimirHarkonnen chapter 19 . 4/24/2017 Wow. Eric manages to be a creep even without being a soul-sucking technorganic vampire. That takes some doing and you did it very, very well. I think Harley Quinn manages to be a villain here even when she's *not* the Joker's moll, though some of her comments kind of make me wonder if she did meet the Joker here or at least is already on that path. |
BaronVladimirHarkonnen chapter 18 . 4/24/2017 This is one of the few fanfics where Eric Forrester makes an appearance. He's just as much a nasty little shit in this story as he was in the original arc and you get props for using him *and* Malchior. Poor Raven. And having Harley Quinn as a therapist really isn't helpful either. |
BaronVladimirHarkonnen chapter 6 . 4/22/2017 Dr. Quinzel? If she's already Harley Quinn at this point, bad move there, Dick. |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/11/2017 Kill yourself you shirty si |
Guest chapter 23 . 8/11/2016 Please keep updating... |
Guest chapter 23 . 8/11/2016 Oh! My God! Oh! My God! Oh! My.. This it's absolutely amazing !...so deep, holy crap! Well done.. |
Guest chapter 2 . 4/14/2016 I'm just curious as to why earlier in chapter one you used a lower case g refering to God, but now in chapter 2 you use an upper case. "...mean God, did she even try?" |
MeatLips chapter 23 . 3/30/2016 This story has been absolutely riveting. Your grasp of the trials and tribulations of the depressed mind make me wonder if maybe you are intimately familiar with this sort of mental illness, either personally or through someone very close to you. Mental illness can be an awful stigma, but you really put it out there and not in some cliched goth-like black-mascara-running-with-tears angst, but as a real thing that Raven is really struggling with. The only criticism I have is some of your spelling could use work. Other than that, I'm totally following this story and looking forward to the conclusion. You've got real skill as a story teller. :-) |
lolipop27 chapter 23 . 3/30/2016 I loved it,I swear I loved..please give us more..XD |
