I honestly can't see Spock, Jim and Nyota not all living together in the future at this point. Jim would have a room next to Nyota's sound proof one and Spock would share both of their rooms. I'm picturing a door that connects the two bedrooms that can be locked.

Yup, when separated the individual halves need to be babysat so their health can be monitored.

This reminds me a bit of my sister and her best friend. Though the best friend is currently married. Well when she spends the night with my sister they share my sister's bed. They've known each other since they were in diapers and feel no romantic feelings towards each other. I think I've heard the her tell my sister that she describes them as non romantic soulmates, or other halves . The best friend's husband doesn't worry about my sister.

I just found your story. Love it. As a women I do not fine your writing Uhura exceptance of Spock and Kirk soul bond that unusual. I think guys have a preconceived idea that women can't understand BRO love. We can!

It is wonderful to see them without that battle to refrain from the emotions and expressions of caring.
Going with the flow is so much better than denial and winding up stressed, alienated and breaking up the best command team in the Fleet!
On the practical side, they are assured of loyalty and being in tuned with each other when the universe decides to catch up with Kirk and smack him around. Spock won't stand for it. ;-)

I think I have finally understood the nature of this relationship. I understood it at a face value before but now I get it. And to be honest, reading a fic that doesn't involve Jim desperately trying to have sex with Spock is great. They can be friends- amazingly close friends- but still require each other on a level that extends beyond friendship. Soul mates, exactly. Spock kissing Jim was very very sweet.

It will be a relief for everyone when this intensity has settled. The tornado of emotions will be gone and the confusion with it. Whew! What a relief. I am glad they made no decisions during this over wrought time. After the meld on Vulcan all should be in balance. But this is Jim Kirk, and...?
