Reviews for Breaking Down the Wall
nayin17 chapter 1 . 2/11/2016
It's Ginny again who made the first move just like most stories after the war...sucks
A Reader chapter 1 . 2/5/2015
I think you did a wonderful job with the characterization of these two and their relationship! This is one of my favorite Hinny reunion fics :) It captures the right amount of space, tension, and confusion they have between each other. I enjoyed the read!
BarbedWire chapter 1 . 8/9/2013
So it's not that I've forgotten you since 'firsts and lasts' ended, it's more that I haven't actually read fanfiction in ages. I have no idea why, but it was lovely to check your profile and see that you've written a ton of excellent looking pieces. Yay catch up reading time!
You write Harry and Ginny perfectly, and I personally find Harry and Ginny to be infinitely more terrifying than Ron and Hermione. So kudos for that.
I'm pretty sure this story is now my Harry and Ginny after the battle head canon. Complete with tiny bits of awkward and the 'I'm still in love with yous.' Very, very cute, and sad and real and pretty much perfect.

I LOVED IT! PLEASE PLEASE write more Harry/Ginny! PLEEEEEAAAAAASE!

Sorry for the late review...I can't log into my account right now. :(. But your story was great! The only thing I thought was a little of was when Harry said I've got to just... That seemed a little OOC. Otherwise amazing!
idearlylovealaugh chapter 1 . 6/19/2013
I thought this was really authentic and in-character for the both of them, Ginny especially. She seemed particularly consistent with Ginny in OOTP, when she similarly confronts Harry for closing himself off (which personally was when I really started liking/respecting Ginny a lot more), but with more maturity and seriousness, which makes sense given everything she's been through. And it also seemed realistic that Harry would have a bit of an existential crisis after everything was finished - for a little while, anyway :). It was nice to see them connecting. Well done!

I can't believe I haven't followed you before now, but I'm glad I stumbled upon this story of yours so I didn't forget. And I'm glad you've now written something purely Harry/Ginny, and unsurprisingly, you did so brilliantly. I can imagine that Harry would shut himself off after everything had died down, and that he'd be forced, in some ways to spend more time alone, what with Ron and Hermione being together. The way that Harry fails to consider that Ginny's year wasn't "a walk in the park" echoes the way he didn't consider that she knew what it was like to have Voldemort in her head, like in OotP, which I thought was really good. And the ending was adorable, too, of course!
Excellent!
HalfASlug chapter 1 . 6/18/2013
Ooh Hinny! Your Harry and Ginny were pretty much spot on here. Harry was angsty, a bit self absorbed and useless with talking to girls, Ginny was strong, determined and had a short temper... Both their good and bad traits were on display here and it makes them so much more believable. Harry taking forever to sort things out with Ginny is entirely plausible. Like you said here, everything changed for him and the world and Harry isn't the type to know when the right time to sort this out would be but Ginny wouldn't let it lie forever. And it all ended with a kiss in the rain! Perfect.

Headcanon - Ron and Hermione were doing the do throughout this story and nothing will convince me otherwise.
theseplasticdiamonds chapter 1 . 6/17/2013
Yay! I'm so glad you wrote some Hinny :D this was really well done, I always shy away from the post-war talks because I can never get it right. You, however, aced this one :) as always, looking forward to whatever's coming next!
fcnoyes63 chapter 1 . 6/16/2013
Finally some Harry/Ginny! I loved it and thought it was a really good first attempt. I find that a big part of your stories are the characters coping with this horrible thing that happened to them all. It's a really relevant topic and I'm glad you explore it. I can't wait to see what else you do with these characters.
kiwifan13 chapter 1 . 6/16/2013
Wow, that was awesome! I could feel the tension and uncertainty. As a firm H/G shipper I can say that you've got the characterisation spot-on (in my opinion anyway). Thanks for sharing :)
Granger12 chapter 1 . 6/15/2013
Uh wat, another Romione fic in the making? Huzzah!
Not that I don't enjoy reading all these lovely one-shots, but you know...

Its pure blasphemy that I've yet to thoroughly review the last chapter of FaL but that confession comes with a point, because I've meant to say that I enjoyed the way you wrote Ginny there and now I can say that here too. More often than not my favorite depictions of Ginny are the ones that show a quiet strength, a quiet but fierce determination. Shes such a strong character and I sometimes think she gets bogged down by those qualities too often, or she comes across as weepy in these situations with(post-war) Harry. Not to say she cant be weepy, she has every right to be weepy, but. I dunno. I loved your story for the fact that Ginny didn't turn into a fit of crying (which I've read in other similar stories). Not quite sure what Im trying to explain. ha. I shall just end with, I love this story, Ginny is a bad ass and fuck yeah Harry Potter! Also I like this bit very much...

"Distracted," Ginny finished. She sighed heavily then, and seemed to wrestle with herself for a moment before visibly coming to a decision. Then, she set her face in resolve and reached out to take his right hand in her left. "I know you've got a lot to figure out, Harry, and so have I. It's just...I don't know. Maybe I was stupid to think we could try to do it together."
