Reviews for That We've Broken Their Statues
ronandhermy chapter 13 . 8/1
This is wonderful! Such a great blend of universes. I laughed aloud several times. A wonderful story.
Honoria Granger chapter 13 . 7/31
Ah well, yet another apparently abandoned story. What ca pity...
satta chapter 13 . 6/14
I’ve hoped to find a fanfic that would mesh Labyrinth and HP together. I haven’t been able to find one to my liking until now. I like it how you’ve made Sarah a someone trying to learn her skills instead of being naturally perfect and apt from the start, that she had her weaknesses, and how slowly and patiently hers and Jareth’s relationship developed. This was such a treat to read! Thank you.
The White Leopard chapter 13 . 9/5/2019
This is...really, really good. I love the idea of a work/study program for Sarah's late-blooming magic. I was shocked that not only was Linda born a Carrow, of all possible families, but Sarah's dad was a squib.

I adore the way you wrote Jareth. Careful, cautious, curious about his interactions with Sarah and her so human family. So surprised and pleased by simple thank yous and gifts. Yet eminently confident and dangerous and Jareth. I'm intrigued by his family and what they (and he) may be.

And Sarah! So bold, even when she's unsure of herself. And so, so clever, as always. I'm actually really glad she's a Ravenclaw. It suits her. And my House could always use more representatives.

I was also intrigued by the Aboveground goblins that weren't falling all over themselves to worship her. So protective of Jareth's broken heart! Lol.

I was also very impressed with your characterizations of the Harry Potter crew. They're all true to form, but you offered a unique perspective on them. Particularly Harry, himself, and his mistrust of adult figures in his life. The OC students in Muggle Studies were also a treat. So cute.

I could go on, but I think I'll leave it there, for now.

Thank you so much for sharing this story with us. It was lovely to read. I hope to see the final chapter someday.
BexyLexi chapter 13 . 3/19/2019
Absolutely brilliant, definitely one of my favourite stories. You've captured that world so well and they fit into it effortlessly. Whether or not it is finished or to be continued this is fantastic So thoroughly enjoyable time and again, repeated readings only increase my love for it.
dreamflower02 chapter 13 . 2/16/2019
Absolutely delightful.

I loved the dynamics of the characters in this story, not just the main protagonists, but also all those in supporting roles. You've built a backstory of real depth, in a way that helps to join the two worlds in a seamless way rarely found in many crossovers.

I do hope you'll someday find the time and inspiration to continue this saga, but even if you never do, thank you for sharing this story..

Well written!
Spidey-phd chapter 4 . 9/5/2018
Ouch. The secret fear of every abandoned child... proven true.
Sarah is a Carrow!? My head-canon places the two Carrows from Hallows in with Filch and the Gaunt families for looks. Proof, yet again, that it only takes a single generation to fix many of problems of inbreeding.
Sarah is now RICH(!), a mystical champion and demonstrates magical abilities. I can imagine her mother or other family members swooping in and trying to force her back into the fold (and under their control).
Alternatively, Sarah is now rich, a mystical champion, and making rapid progress in her magical education. She is being courted by magical royalty. If she is also able to prove her linage she might be deemed a suitable guardian for a certain neglected/abused young orphan...
Did "Linda" return to England after the defeat of the Dark Lord?
Spidey-phd chapter 3 . 9/5/2018
I am firmly against inequality in relationships. I have a very strong negative reaction to large age differences in romantic relationships (particularly with teens and adults) as I assume the partnership is, at best, unequal. Thus, Labyrinth, a movie that I found amusing when I was young, now has potentially horrific undertones (suggestive of Liam Neeson's "Taken").

I actually find this story emotionally soothing. Presenting Jareth as a protective guardian of lost and abused children radically changes how I view the character. Additionally, allowing Sarah to age, interact freely with her peers and family members, and even date diminishes concerns about Jareth being some kind of inhuman fae stalker who has been isolating and manipulating Sarah since she was a young girl.
Zxanath chapter 7 . 8/30/2018
really good job weaving Sarah and Jareth into the conversation. thanks I really like this story.
KuroHinata chapter 11 . 8/28/2018
really, why did u not confirm first
Ann chapter 12 . 8/28/2018
Awesoooome! Good on Sarah! I thought she overcame the Imperius by herself, but the Hogwarts geass was a nice touch (and makes sense). Maybe it gave her the push she needed to overcome the compulsion. And I'm glad she's thinking about Harry and how Quirel's death might affect him. Excellent!
Padfoot'smyMan chapter 5 . 8/26/2018
I love how he is courting her and she doesn't even realize.
Tabbyprincess chapter 13 . 8/17/2018
Lovely as ever
Sonata IX chapter 13 . 8/16/2018
Just found this. Far and away the best HP/Laby crossover I've read. I love the issues you're addressing and how you give Sarah and Jareth a lot of their own power without taking over the HP characters' stories. I hope there will be more stories in this joint world you've created!
