I've only just found this story, by pure dumb luck, but it's brilliant and I'm so impressed by everything that you managed to say with so few words, when some wordier stories can so easily miss the point. This is tragic yet beautiful all at the same time. I almost wish you'd continue it - is there any chance of a follow on?

How terrible - not your writing, mind you but the story! Here Eliot tried to make the right choice and was rewarded with a wonderful family, and then it all goes up in flames, pretty literally. *sobs*

I really like your idea of everything coming full circle and Eliot still ending up with the others on the team but it's breaking my heart that this is what he got for doing the right thing, he lost his family and essentially his life.

And although he decided not to take the "dark" path, he would have been a compleley different man from the one on the show and probably much more bitter.
Also, at least for those who killed his family, his revenge would have been terrible! I have no doubt he wouldn't have been satisfied with but grifting those in question, he would have wanted them distroyed like they did his loved ones.

Really? First thing on a Monday morning and you go and break my heart like this?! OMG. I mean, it's awesome. The writing and the idea you've had here, it's really smart, but oooowww! My heart hurts :( Poor Eliot :( I guess fate really did want him with the team though, no matter what.
