I really loved this. I really enjoy reading well thought out and conscientious depictions Ratchet, and you have done him justice here.

I think my favorite part was where he first 'greeted' Optimis after the battle. It's just like Ratchet (and probably part of what makes his character so endearing... In a strange way) to take out his accumulated sorrow and pain on the Prime. And it was so like Optimus to accept and allow His trusted friend and CMO to vent that anger meekly. The part where he decided to take the blow from the wrench to protect the humans was a touching moment and a brilliant addition. I just adored that whole interaction, it definitely painted a leader I would want to follow.

Ratchet's revelation as to just /what/ Sam is was also touching. Though I was a bit surprised at how easily and quickly he transferred all his feelings and commitment towards Optimus to the boy as well. I'm not surprised that he did, I'm just surprised that it was so quick and, in a way, subtle and understated. I mean, it is a total paradigm shift for him. Needless to say, I enjoyed the lovely setup for Ratchet's formal and respectful attitude toward Sam that so confused Sam in Kinship.

Like I said (or ment to of I haven't), a wonderful addition to your cannon!

I love Ratchet. I love how he respects Optimus SO much that he is not afraid to give him a good smack upside the helm and lecture. :)

I can also imagine Ironhide being rather sulky that he didn't get to ream Optimus out, too. (Though, I can also imagine him finding him later to do so. lol.)

Thanks for filling in the spaces between the scenes and making the story better.

I liked the quaint linear explanations comment- data dumps transmit nearly as fast if you've got enough bandwidth but are faster to analyze. Or in human terms, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Questions- Arcee wasn't as closed to Ratchet? I thought she and Moonracer were sisters, either directly or through Chromia, and that Arcee had been part of Ratchet's medical team.

And I greatly appreciate that Autobots repair their dead when possible.

Ratchet doesn't hold back, does he? He is passionate and it shows here. Especially regarding the two Primes. "Mother Hen" is a good description for him. Until next time.
