i love it! great story idea. my favorite thing about it was the prom theme because every prom I'd see or been to is something silly.

I have been meaning to get around to reading this forever! I've had it saved on my tablet for the longest time and finally I settled down to start reading it - I loved it from the very beginning to the very end! :)

I so wanted Jess to take Rory to her Prom, and I love that you didn't just have them go but also having it be The Great Gatsby for that extra literature connection. It was the perfect Rory/Jess dance theme! I've never read the book or seen the movie, but I know a little about 20s America and I love how you had them dressed and everything - so cool.

It's a beautiful thing to see late Season 3 Rory & Jess figure things out so that he actually talks to her and she allows him to explain himself and nobody runs away! Also, I don't think there could ever be a better ending than the two of them falling in the lake together! lol

This was beautiful, and I shall be reading it over again at a later date because of its fabulousness :)

Ok I'm loving the story so far, and YAY Great Gatsby:D But I wanted to correct just one itty bitty little thing. Lane did go to prom with Dave. Remember? Mrs. Kim gave him some crazy quote and he searched the bible all night and she admitted it was from Shakespeare and he was allowed to take Lane to the prom. Then Lane showed Rory hundreds of pictures from it. I just wanted to throw that out there lol and again, great story:)

What a sweet lit fic! Rory definitely deserved a Jess prom and I'm glad you didn't make it all fluff, that would have been very out of character.

2% chance, indeed! I have to agree with you completely: prom sucks, but Jess and Rory should have gone. And way to go with the theme. I haven't seen the movie, or refreshed my memory since high school English, but I still like it more than most. After all, what is "A Night in the Spring Garden" or some crap like that supposed to mean? You've got your hands on the right thing with that. (Incidentally, a teacher friend of mine just told me her students chose "A Nightmare Before Christmas" for their Winter Ball theme - now, that, I approved of. :)

Oh no! It's over? But I want more! ;-) my vote is definitely for the sequel. I really enjoyed the tie in with the book here (their last two lines of dialogue). I also enjoyed how he opened up a bit here. If these two could just talk more, it would do them a world of good. Thank you for the story! I really enjoyed it!

Your descriptions of Jess's insecurities are really touching. (His thoughts of disappointing people since 1985 and his worries that he'd made too much an effort with the decorations etc.) It seems especially true to character that his first instinct when he felt he'd disappointed her was to bolt.

I've been away from this story too long! I had to reread it just to relive the magic! This theme is just so fabulous for their prom! I can't wait to see what happens next!
I did find it a little hard to believe that someone would lend their vintage car to a teenager unsupervised. But it's a great image!

Awe loved this ending. Poor Jess thought he ruined Prom for Rory but she came after him cause she wanted him. I'm glad to see Rory came after him. Jess couldn't help but feel horrible that he ruined Rorys prom then he upset her when he wouldn't open up. I loved that Jess got all worried about Rory when the fell into the water and Rory started laughing. :) That was a very cute moment plus then Rory showed she wanted him after Jess said nobody ever has wanted him, then Jess carrying Rory :) Just so much cuteness. Then you ended with Rory pretty much showing Jess he didn't ruin her prom and the headed back to the diner. :) So cute! Loved this story so much I loved seeing Jess so caring to Rory and how he wanted her prom to be perfect. :)

I would love to see a sequel showing how they stay in touch and together.

Ugh Dean go away Rory isnt yours! Awe poor Jess. He wants too make Rorys prom perfect but he doesn't like being there. Plus he is worried that Rory won't confide or talk to him. Loved this chapter :) Loved the Lit
