The only difference I can think of is that Shane Walsh abandoned Otis in «The walking dead» selsom 2, while the Sandaime Hokage left a comrade behind when the Nidaime Hokage told him to geit out of there while he «Senju Tobirama» secured their escape. Still, not sure it is valid, since the Sandaime followed orders...

Leaving someone behind is ensuring their health and safety to the best of your ability and giving them the best chance of survival before continuing on. Abandoning someone is not caring about them nor considering their health, safety, or survival wether you continue or not.

As for your question last chapter, it was a little rushed since there was no real explanation about his new abilities, what was going on with Rin, ect, but I get why since you wanted to get to the magical side of this magical ninja tale.

So he left. Makes me wonder if what he had said will change things and it makes me wonder if he's goin to stay only the school year and then go back to konoha during the summer or going to just stay away instill he feels he's ready. But overall liked the chapter.
