I've only recently got into the Kannao pairing, and your fanfics make me appreciate this relationship even more :) Reading events from Naoto's perspective is incredibly intriguing and I look forward to future chapters. Thanks for sharing this fic!

as a needed mention, that second bit... XD ohmigawd! not one word of that did i not understand XD especially the maths allusions *snickers* oddly, this makes sense, 'yes, lets try to quantify attraction to understand love, sure, why not?' XD never works... trying to make sense out of attraction is a lifelong endeavor... *snickers* but so much geeky-nerd in one section... couldn't help but giggle...

and yes Naoto, you are compensating for 'something' with your whole liking heights (is this fanon or canon? i see it pop up a lot?) or is it just that she hung out on the school roof occasionally? XD

on a serious note, its oddly funny to see someone so smart they've doubled back to stupid, but that is the 'flaw' of hypercognitive intelligence isnt it? everything has its place, it all 'makes sense' so all those meta things just... don't .-. HOORAY! on deciding to take initiative! too bad its not very effective XD

poor Kanji, what are you thinking in these moments? he seems more sad then normal, and its blowing up my cute-moe-dar... stop it... or let me hug you! though it is a funny poke at their differences, Naoto likes heights and fast things, she's such a kid... Kanji, not so much, he's the one surprisingly serious in these moments... or just feeling sick... either or :3

i feel the need to do something fluffy... perhaps get my own male-waifu something cute, just to say 'hey, i wuv you' :3 cause if Naoto can't get it down, doesn't mean i can't in reality... need fluff and cakes or soemthing XD

And just after the ending of the last chapter of shortest distance that was as fluffy as baby alpaca we have newest chapter of burns without cue, where we see that Yosuke is most likely gay for Souji and kanji is in so much emotional despair and pain it is crushing his heart...

And yet the story is in Romance/Humor category... So there is either hope, of wrong category XD

Naoto does Naoto things... and her capacity for flirting S*CKS! XD stop being subtle, he's gone so far into denial he's not getting it... or ignoring it thinking its nothing, whichever works! while it translates to 'obvious' in Naoto-speak, that's not the common language, most don't get it... XD

i like how her and Teddie are like little kids and just wonder off and can't be expected to get things for others themselves XD and their opposite-ness:

"Yosuke didn't. "What about the women's section?" he asked, smirking.
"I believe you'll find Teddie there trying on dresses," said Naoto."

and yet this oddly makes sense to everyone :D same as Naoto likes suits, Teddie likes dresses, god these two... it would help more if Teddie wasn't a shadow-thingy and possibly in control of his gender and picked 'boy' for some arbitrary reason like 'but sensei is one!' but... sigh... Teddie... course Teddie being raised without the moral restrictions has no idea that him being all squeally-cute-flowery is more a 'girl' thing... go Teddie!

also, silly Kanji, pay attention, the woman just told you what to give her... seriously Naoto's horrible at gift giving if the only things she can think of are what SHE'D like... but meh, details... its a start... empathy takes time to grasp/comprehend and considering she started so late dealing with 'people' on a more personal level then 'suspect' perhaps the fact she even registers she SHOULD be giving a gift is a phenomenal thing...

seriously though, Kanji, stop being all waifu-adorable! while he may not notice he's doing it, i think Naoto is... heck i don't think there's a woman alive that wouldn't automatically register male-waifu as grade-A adorableness and want to snatch that... NAOTO! you shouldn't be wondering off like some silly kid while he's all alone in the kitchen section! he could get kidnapped by a shotacon or something! like you! XD

Haha, dude. This is awesome.

These two understand each other without necessarily 'knowing' each other. Naoto says and does things that would affront a 'normal' person, but Kanji can read her intentions (or at least her established behaviors). The second portion is my favorite, though. If the first shot maps out Kanji's impressions and simplified (but still complex) understanding of Naoto, the second part confirms it through her point of view. Just love the dialogue at the end - funny, sweet, and truthful. Through it all, the reader sees a beautiful and natural attraction between the two - another 'dance' if you will.

I enjoy reading Kanji and Naoto's interactions. You write them so well. Great chapter.

Yeah, the Japanese schools are not big on individualism, rather the very notion of it is frowned upon. After all the society there as well more appreciates units rather then individuals.
