Seriously though, I love how vulnerable you made Danny here. As much as we see him cracking jokes and being snarky in the show, we sometimes forget just how young he is, that he's still 14 and still starting his teen years and really still just a kid. A kid who needs protection and guidance, to know that things will be alright, and even if it hurts now (and it may lessen but bever go away), there's still hope out there. Everything's just perfect here, really; the characterizations, their dialogue, Danny's guilt of not being there sooner, Jazz consoling Danny and using something he loves to help him - gah so perfect.

I loved the detail to the sorrow and despair, I could feel the entire scene. The bond between the two, the atmosphere around Danny, the feelings flowed thru.

Your story is so beautiful and heartbreaking, it brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. Thank you for writing this, it makes me appreciate my mom still being here more. :)
