Hey there, read this like a year ago, forgot about it, found it again, and wa slept wondering why the feck I forgot about it. Usually I don’t really like a story that has a character tagged onto a story just to say, “hey look he’s there now” but have the story proceed as it does, but here, Stark is trying to stay out of the way, meaning he doesn’t have a large effect: makes sense. The only times he acted directly is in the recent chapters as he was forced to. Good stuff.

The small bit with Yamamoto kind of gave me the thought that he recognized Stark’s wolves and lined them to records of a specific powerful hollow, that nobody really knows is actually dead now. And I imagine the ‘cero’ didn't really help much. Ukitake and Kyoraku were looking for a Zanpakuto that matched Stark’s abilities, not necessarily a hollow which might explain why they didn’t make the connection.

Hahaha, I know I already commented, but I just reread this and I had to do it again. The way you personified Ryujin Jakka is just so amazing!? And the way everyone reacts! In awe, terrified, and eager to get out of there! Haha haha!

Great to see another chapter from you!

I find it fitting that you release this chapter now, when most of the characters here are under a quarantine of their own.

You did a good job in fleshing out the backstory of Koga, such as making him someone who married into nobility instead of being born into it. It adds a layer of his frustration of not getting the respect he deserves, and/or he feels like he deserves.
The backstory also explains why Unohana, Kyoraku, and Ukitake did not recognize the name Muramasa.
The question could also come up on how this affects Rukia; given the last time what happened when the Kuchiki clan leader allowed a lower class person into the family, it makes me wonder if they had learned from their previous mistake.

One thing that Starrk doesn’t want to think about or accept is that Lilynette is now a shinigami now (or at least, a student shinigami). That means that she considers other shinigami her peers, her allies, and her leaders, and other shinigami (for the most part) will default to considering Lilynette an ally in return. And more importantly, it means that she is part of the Gotei 13’s chain of command, which in turn means if the captains want her help, she would be bound to obey.
Given that Starrk has memories of their previous lives as Hollows, it makes sense that he would be slow to reclassify shinigami as allies, but at some point he will need to accept that being a shinigami is something that Lilynette wants, and really, there are not many other options for them out there.

And yes, Mayuri remains Mayuri; one of the many, many disappointments I had about the final arc was that Uryu didn’t get a chance to “prove” his loyalty to the Vandenreich by killing him.

There is something to be said for giving Ryujin Jakka a humanoid form, and you did a good job in your portrayal here, but I think an argument could be made for it being nothing more than living fire. Yamamoto is unmatched in raw power and in the determination to accomplish what he believes needs to be done, no matter how monstrous the act might be to others. Think about it this way: when every other zanpakuto spirit takes on a humanoid shape, what does it saw about a man when the personification of his soul is not even remotely human?

Yeah Ryujin Jakka is a very frightening zanpakuto.

i love this chapter, seeing the captains interact with Lilynette and realising that Starrk is her zanpakuto was awesome. i'm looking forward to how they act and finding out what they think about the two of them. Also, loving how curious Starrk is about all the different kido and trying them out, if there's anyway Starrk can get Lilynette to practice her kido it's by demonstrating the cool ones he picked up from the other Shinigami!

To be honest, I haven't watched the zanpakutou rebellion arc, because they put it in the middle of more important stuff, and I was much too impatient to watch it. So sometimes I'm a little lost as to what's happening, but I enjoyed the story nonetheless, I think it's original and a compelling story. Starrk is so lazy though, I love it! He only really began to do anything proactive when Lilinette came, that cat. I know it's contradictory, but he reminds me of my cat who sleeps all day more than a dog haha

Thank you for the update! I'm concerned about Kurotsuchi knowing about Stark, but the immediate worry is the Karakura situation. Muramasa and Ichigo's interaction in the anime was always the best part of the arc for me. :) Ryujin Jakka sounds INCREDIBLE. Such a great description! Good luck on your writing!
