I think it was rather wonderful that Elsa was at the wedding, and even more how happy she was with Max. Loved their deviousness in leaving together.

Ok, I had always thought of Max and Elsa as an unlikely pairing, but I love what you did with this chapter. It was perfect. Great that Elsa was not the one who spread the ugly rumours about Georg and Maria and I love how she was not interested in the rich, handsome titled Admiral but only had eyes for Max. It was quite delightful.

Oh poor Max with his unrequited awkward feelings and a handsome Admiral muscling intruding on his moment with Elsa.

Ooooh, I loved how they outwitted their chaperones met for a secret rendezvous. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Poor Georg, trapped with all those tiresome chaperones, arguing amongst themselves and driving him crazy. Very amusing chapter.

Ah, the tricky question of whether he would have gone after her if she had not come back. I like to think he would have.
And he did make a spectacular mess of things - breaking two women's hearts in one day.

Loved Maria's little challenge at the end of this chapter and his very decisive response.

How intriguing about Elsa and Max. I am glad he was there to comfort her in her terrible hurt and rejection. But I am fascinated whether things will go further. I hope so. She deserves some happiness too.

I can tell this story is going to be a joy to read. Pure unadulterated romance of the best kind. This first chapter was lovely. It just made me feel so happy and joyful.

Coming in here way after publication... I loved all 5 of your stories, I felt like of all the SOM fanfic I've read in the last week (a lot) that you by far captured the 'voices' of the Captain and Maria the best, like these could plausibly be the prose form of deleted scenes from the movie. I thought you did an excellent job of creating extra characters, you have clearly done your research as to the period and locations. If you get the urge to write SOM fanfic again - you've got a reader in me.
