I much prefer this to the tragic canon. Also, I laughed so hard at how the crew is used to Ace falling overboard and are instantaneous in their rescue but for Thatch they just stood there like "0.o oh! right, we need to save him now too"

I love this, though I feel as if there should be a couple more moments where the canon may affect Marco...but it is your story. I would love to see Marco over reacting when his previously dead family gets a little blood on them..but I also like how you leave it open ended- either Marco is deep in his own illusion, went to his version of heaven, or got displaced to a better AU.

I was mildly enjoying the fic, just chillin, all good...and then I read the last line. Took me a second, and now I blame you for my current occupation of sobbing in the corner of my room. Thanks -_-

There is some saying out there about if you take too long to enjoy something it'll go away. Well Thatch O.O what do you have to say for yourself. Even with the devil fruit you could have taken a swim! See ACE showed us perfectly well. You indirectly killed him to idiot, and you Ace, selfless idiot you have tortured and traumatized your brother in canon.l have a lot more to say but getting to the point. I liked this. I've had the dreams and daydreams recently(1week) that the surviving division commanders meet the Strawhats and they have a party. Everything is all good. There's a huge bonfire with fire reaching the sky and guess who's awake. Only one strawhat is awake, though some others might be feigning sleep and whosever on watch is far away. Luffy and Marco and (I want to keep it them two because I don't know the characters of the others) they are around the bonfire. Talking, abouuuuut...
Ace and Whitebeard of course. It probably isn't completely angst because Luffy will smile at memories he might have of Ace and so might Marco at their pranks but it will be the sadness of war veterans who have seen too much and know that to survive and to go on they have to smile but want a moment a second to acknowledge that they lost so much they will never get back but that what is lost is not forgotten or absent. Ace might even make an appearance in the bonfire. If it becomes too tragic and angst (which I love but for some reason other people complain, as if dark feelings are not an everyday occurrence). I give you this for challenge or you can give it to someone else. I am not writing. Nooope. I am not mutilating a perfectly nice sober idea. Now on with the drinks and the joy! To forgetting, to remembering and to your story which I have reread and reread (5). It is just that concise in transporting the dream and the idea of What If? I still question on what happened to Teach. In this story he was never born, correct. That is the perfect dream ending. Teach go to hell, though only after you see Luffy become the pirate king, your nakama killed in front of you, tortured (extensively), quartered and then you may go to hell. Though all throughout psychological torture as well, know also as mind rape. Hmm, am I quite vengative? Oh well, I like your story, if only this was canon, though it'd be shorter it'd be more comforting and the distraught moments I spent after that emotion punch wouldn't have happened.(I'm still miffed with Oda for playing with my feelings as such, should I call Sanji) anyways please ignore my dark moments this story has made my mind spiral into unknown territories. I like it. Bwahahahahah, I have other images this stories give me but for the sake of whoever reads I shall stop.
