S chapter 50 . 3/28 I love you. I love you. Seriously. You write masterpieces that almost make me cry. Each word is absolutely perfect. I love you. I can’t tell you how much your fiction has impacted my life. Your work has defined me over the years that I’ve read it and I don’t know what to say. Saying anything seems too little. Thank you for everything that you’ve posted. Palpatine - for me, at least - has always been the most important character in Star Wars (the constant). And you and DarthObysdian, DarthRuinous - but mainly you - have contributed so much to Palpatine fiction. I don’t know if you’ve heard of immersive daydreaming, but to give you a picture of how much your work has impacted my life, your characterisation of him is one of my paras. He literally defines part of my identity. And you created this. There isn’t any way to say ‘thank you’ (without donating billions of dollars to you) that isn’t too little. Thank you, S |
Guest chapter 80 . 12/29/2019 Spoilers for Rise of Skywalker! What was your reaction to Rey being Palpatine's granddaughter? |

1207 chapter 80 . 10/23/2019 Are you gonna do one on Sidious in the rise of skywalker. |
J Valkyre chapter 22 . 8/16/2019 I stumbled upon your writing a few days ago, and I haven't stopped reading it since. I think you have an amazing set of skills which allow you to make a reader "see" through the eyes of Palpatine. Although I do not agree with every sentence (or paragraph) you wrote, and I did spot a few errors, I have to commend you for your work. I will continue my reading now. May the Force be with you, my friend. |
ShinRaZAFT chapter 80 . 7/28/2019 LOVE, LOVE your story! Especially with the chapters of Sidious’ POV ONLY! Hopefully, I’ll be reading more in his POV, either first or third person. It’s very, very difficult to find any story about Sidious. Most stories say theirs is about Sidious, so you think it should be or in his POV, but always turns out it’s ready not. Especially, with Darth Vader involved or the original saga “good guys” aka Luke, Leia, etc... Then your lucky if Sidious will appear at all. Mostly he appears in one to three chapters in an twenty to forty chapter story. I’m interested if you can, which you don’t have to since it’s a long scene, write an ROTS chapter. The scene when Obi-Wan and Anakin appears to where Palpatine is to rescue him and finish till the ship crushes. But in Sidious’ POV and what he’s thinking during his rescue. |
Bahamut12 chapter 80 . 7/28/2019 OMG this chapter was epic. Love how you expand Grevious' character as intelligent and bloodthirsty and Sidious as his all powerful, ethereal, shadowy self. So good! Felt like this scene filled a gap in that scene from ROTS. Can't wait for the next instalment. Reading these chapters is a highlight of my day. Bahamut12 |
Lord Razer chapter 80 . 7/28/2019 huh, this is quite interesting in that Palpatine is willing to give grievous one last parting gift in that he would get his final battle with his greatest nemesis. Guess this would be a "kindness" from Palpatine in a way. Though it does make it weird in that Grievous did try to retreat to his ship when the republic showed up. than again that could be him to get obi wan by himself so they can fight privately. good stuff here. |
AshlaTi chapter 80 . 7/26/2019 When Grievous reduced Humbarine to slag I was always curious as to why he didn't do the same to Coruscant. As evidenced by the crash of the Invisible Hand Grievous had either penetrated the planetary shield or knocked it out of action. Just peripheral damage alone on Coruscant from the batt;e must have been devastating. Though we never see it in the movie. It is true Grievous was more of a butcher starting with the Battle of Hypori and never let up. His role as a strategist was never evident as most of his schemes from the Malevolence to his great victories at Vandos or Parian II were over shadowed by his simultaneous oversteps at Rendilli. So he knew all along, yet never dropped a name to Kenobi. Never taunted the Negotiator with that valuable information that Skywalker would be turned away from him, especially after Kenobi's cocky "Hello there". Never a turning of the unexplained Negotiator nickname into a 'Kenobi the about to get stabbed in the back'? This was a beautiful insight into Grievous nonexistent deduction skills. But for Palpatine to offer him a kindness for being the first to figure it out where stronger minds like Yoda or Dooku failed is a bit of a stretch. In the end he needed to offer him a prize of Kenobi not a kindness. I loved the addition and it explains your recent research, but if Greivous embraced his glorious death in battle it begs one question. At Utapau, why did he run? |
The Warrior Of Twilight chapter 80 . 7/26/2019 Another piece well done! |
PaladinDelta chapter 79 . 6/26/2019 Looks as if Sidious didn't get the reaction he wanted with his gloating. Doubtful he would've thought much on Ahsoka's words afterwards, seeing as he was blinded by his absolutes. The back and forth poorly hidden disdain of each other dialogue between the two was something I can see happen in the show and was well written. Ahsoka shows whilst she does possess the old habits and teachings of the Jedi, she also grown out of some and has accepted and worked on the flaws of the Order's teachings that contributed to their downfall. Sidious is one of, if not, the best when it comes to enticing the dark side and pulling those around him toward it also, and for just a few seconds he dragged her into the temptation. Another fine piece and look forward to more :) |
AlchemyWriter chapter 1 . 6/18/2019 The first chapter is fine, but Palpatine’s first name was Sheev. He still dropped it out of hatred for his parents, though. |
Guest chapter 79 . 4/14/2019 Darth Sidious is coming back! |
AshlaTi chapter 79 . 2/11/2019 It’s strange for someone who surprised someone else that Ahsoka actually caused Palpatine to check his step for the briefest of seconds did he perhaps see the darkness swallowing his Empire and everything he built? He should have stuck around and caught the image of the light breaking the darkness as Luke would one day do at Endor. Man, I really wish we could have seen them fight, you do banter well, but Palpatine needs to stretch those muscles every now and then and Ahsoka could have given him a good workout even though I’m sure he’d win in the end. I look forward to a chapter where Palpatine discovers Ezra’s location. I guess we will have to wait for future shows to reveal that info first. Great update my friend |
The Spirit of Evil chapter 79 . 2/10/2019 I must say this was far more than I expected. I was thinking this chapter would be more like Luke's thoughts on the emperor before he gave himself up, but this was even better. I liked your depiction of Ahsoka's connection to force the most. "It's okay to feel as long as those feelings don't control you." Ahsoka accepts her emotions for what they are, rather than detaching herself from them, and still tries to follow her positive instincts. I'm not really sure what to make of Sidous' use of the force. He is motivated not by emotion, but by ambition. If his anger clashes with his ambition, he can hold it back or act on it non-violently through politics. I guess he is similar to Ahsoka, in that he understands his anger and controls it, using it to his advantage through the force. Of course, Ahsoka is right in pointing out that it is arrogant to believe you can control your anger forever, as eventually he cuts loose against Luke and doesn't watch his back. The strongest point of the interaction was Ahsoka's thoughts on Anakin/Vader. She accepts her master for who he is/was, and doesn't view him through rose colored lenses. Sidious only likes to see the negative side of everyone, he very rarely sees the positives (except he sometimes respects those with ambitions and skills similar to his own). His inability to see that people have both positive and negative traits is part of what leads to his downfall. I also liked that Sidious' very words are enough to cause Ahsoka to flirt with the Darkside, and she recognizes that at the end. He doesn't really seem to be trying his hardest to turn her to the Darkside, but even without trying he's just that good at tempting others. My one gripe with this chapter is that at the end, Ahsoka defends the Jedi and believes that light can drive darkness back. As a grey Jedi I wish she understood that destruction and creation, the Dark and Light, are equally important. Too much light, as the Jedi Order had, brought on an era of peace, but also decadence, corruption, arrogance and stagnation. The darkness has to shake things up sometimes. Just think of the Resistance and the First Order. The Rebels were great at fighting and bringing down the Empire, but when faced with the realities of governing they were incapable of protecting themselves. Snoke said it best: "Darkness rises and Light to meet it." |
