I read this some time ago, but I don't think I left a review and then it took me a while to find it again, but I think about it constantly and am getting ready to read it again. This is so well written and just amazing characterization of the digidestined. Thank you for this

Miss A I am writing this review after reading straight though this story with battle royal ina bag in front of me (unwatched). and this story is heart wrenching, I was fully devoted to the plot the characters while a few of them being a little tropey (42ppl is hard to avoid tropes P) but most that lasted the first 24H were enjoyable but why did so many haft to die! this fic was insane from start to finish and I'm guessing it was an adaptation of the movie so I know what I'm getting into with said movie. but anyway I'm glad you didn't kill Davis (thought you would have). still reat story, Fav'd

The story is actually an emotional thriller to b exact... I was almost crying at the roughy of so many dead... But very good.

I love how that title is way more meaningful when you know Battle Royale. So I should be expecting a character death reading this. Right.

Interesing how you start with characters outside the class that was the main focus in the previous character; it allows for more building of character and relationships, and sets a nice pace as well. And gives us information in a neat way. It's sadly amusing how Matt's so sure that TK, Davis and Kari aren't the group chosen because they're on the school trip; that's going to make a depressing scene if/when they find out the truth.

That's a bit longer than I expected; why was TK able to stay awake that much longer than Davis (Kari's sick episodes might say she's more succeptible to that sort of thing, but Davis?). And yep, that was a nice dramatic punch, especially when Tai's mother calls and adds even more to the emotions.

You put them in Fiji? Lol; that is a good and far place, but I'm surprised you put them in a named place (and my parents home country to boot; never saw that pop up in a fanfic before :D). The logistics are nicely thought out.

The way it switches to Davis' POV is nciely done, though the ellipses does wind up a little transparent.

What happened to the strangers in the room at the time; it sounds like the lieutenant and soldiers enter after everyone wakes up, but were on screen before.

[She was the class president making her] - comma after president.

I love Davis' reaction; it does sound rather unbelievable - except in the face of that undeniable proof. That was a good idea for a shock.

That was quick; not quite what I expected but that's what makes a horror story thrilling.

Now I want to know what sort of weapon you're going to give everyone. :D

I haven't seen or read Battle Royale yet, but it was my blind fandom for a challenge so I've done some research on it. :D I can see it showing up nicely in the beginning too: the general state of the world (though I'm not sure how much was specific to Battle Royale and how much was your own research into history). You set up the scene very nicely, though the politics behind the act wind up getting brushed under the carpet. Whether you explore that later or not, it might be worth adding a couple of sentences why this sort of act was proposed instead of something more Big Brother like.

I'm somewhat amused you start by the bus, considering it reminds me of the scene of the 01 Digidestineds' return to the digital world (albeit that's not a beginning, but it still reminds me :D). "The teachers were trying..." That sentence seems to run on a little. You build up the excited atmosphere very nicely though. You set up the excursion very nicely too: showing where it sits in context, that they have been to the Digital World and are still close friends and even where some of the older Digidestined are. I wonder though why you mention some of the characters in the first instance with their full name, and others by their first name only (eg. Yolei and Matt).

"Kind of sucks..." - Who's talking here; it's a little confusing between Davis and TK, though it seems to lean more towards the latter.

The slight shadow that lurks on the apparently happy scene was very nicely done as well, particularly with all the friendly teasing that goes on. It's an interesting way to foreshadow, something I imagine works better when you know the bloodiness that comes with Battle Royale, but even if you don't, the beginning should be enough of a reminder.

So TK managed to get a message out. I wonder what was in it, what Matt would make of it and whether it'd actually accomplish anything in the end. Why is TK the only one not completely out because of the gas though? Don't Kari and Davis have their digivices? I love the little tidbit of hope you let sneak in in the last line, and at this stage, I don't know your writing well enough to guess which way you're going to take that. :D

Well...that was...kind of creepy...
I mean...damn...If they weren't Digidestined and knew with all their heart that they could trust each other...
I always thought "Would it help, if the digimons were with them"...
But I'm so relieved that the three of them survived!
You made it quite dangerous for them.
But on my part I can say it was a great fanfiction and I couldn't stop for one minute until I finish reading.

That was simply amazing. I adore friendship and it was all in an action pact fic. Too perfect for words!

Thank you for sharing this! You're a talented author, and since I've never seen the movie your writing kept me in suspense the whole time. And since I've maintained a more or less permanent adrenaline rush throughout my reading of this wonderful piece of fiction, it is incredibly difficult to type, so I'm going to leave this with another great work and thanks!

I've never seen or read Battle Royale, but I'm familiar with the concept.

YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB WITH THIS STORY! It was SO well-written! And I thought it was a very realistic portrayal (you know, as in character reactions, etc.). It was so perfect: Kari, Davis, and TK being in the selected class. Yolei, Ken, and Izzy hacking. Kari having to fight against an attack. Everyone having to hide out in the digital world at the end. Wow. You kept me on the edge of my seat!

You're an amazing writer. I felt myself running and hiding along with your characters. I could feel moments of their life as if it were my own. Long story short I could live through your characters and experience what they were experiencing. That is one powerful gift you have there. It is very very rare to find fanfic writers like you. I was also impressed by your insight. Excellently done. I usually look for errors in a fanfic, specially if the writer is good, and I've spotted a couple of minor ones in yours. First off it would have been more realistic if you wrote a paragraph on how the parents were reacting to this. This is a very minor detail but it is those that enhance the overall flavor in a story. I mean if I had children and one of them were taken away to battle to death, I would immediately find my other children and keep them close. I'm not saying they should be involved in the story directly, however they should be mentioned. The other detail was simply one of fact. If one of your siblings were imprisoned in such an island wouldn't you use your digivice and go get them the minute the government connections are lost. You're ending is realistic too though now that I think of it. Anyway this has been one of the best fanfictions I've read in my 5 years of reading in this site. Thank you for a simply lovely read.
