I think your Faramir was very in-character with his reaction to this. He cares for his brother, but can never accept taking the Ring for any reason. The story was utterly creepy, but extremely well written. The last line is horrifying, and I really want to know what happens next. Where is the rest of the Fellowship?! Did Boromir kill them all?!

Good character portrayals though Denethor is a bit rushed.

I am a rabid Faramir and Boromir fan, but I've never seen a fic like this. It's so... I don't know how to even describe it. I had read it a couple years ago when I *cringe* hadn't read the books and thought it was pretty good, but going back with knowledge of canon made it so much better. I love the way that you portrayed Boromir. I've seen many fics where Boromir lives and persuades the Fellowship to come to the White City, but it all ends happily (and usually involves a Mary Sue.) It really made me happy to find a fic that accurately portrayed the power of the Ring over the charecters that we know and love. I know that from that brief moment in FotR when Boromir tries to take the Ring from Frodo that we get a brief glimpse of what Boromir would be like with the Ring, but this really opened my eyes. Thank you.

*looks up at the Paragraph o' Doom and winces* Guess I got a little carried away... :)

That was great!, I actually felt heartbroken at the end of fic as i was mourning the loss of Boromir, poor Faramir having to see someone you loved twisted into a monster! It was well written and can i be so bold in asking for a sequel to this fic however it may just ruin it.

Okay, that's two stories with really, REALLY creepy endings in one day. First Identity, now this! Wonderful, wonderful ficlet. Do not continue. Leave it.

The dialogue sounds just like Tolkien, which is extremely impressive, in my own opinion at least. Wow. Just wow. Poor Faramir. And Boromir, I suppose... not that I don't love him (I do, really! Your portrayal of him was fantastic!) but just ask my friends... when it comes to Faramir, I'm completely crazed.

Wow, okay, off to read something else with a creepy ending. Keep writing! I enjoyed The Return of the King (GREAT title, by the way) immensely.

"The Return of the King" is a great viginette, it wouldn't be too bad to continue writing the story, if it had a happy ending of course!
