Oh so sweet thanks for a very good read some sad places too

This was absolutely fantastic! Loved the glimpses of Lisbon's childhood. Loved how in character you have made the members of the team be. LOVE the banter between Lisbon and Jane. Loved the entire Sherpa Blanket bit.

I'm choking up, oh my god. I thought number four was my favourite, but then I hit number six... And god, am I now a mess.
Hah, there are tears on my face. All I can say is bloody good job, honey. I loved every word of this, and it was a pleasure to read. An abundance of favourites and follows will be coming your way!
(Still crying. Nice one!)

That last line: "Always," Patrick Jane. "Always." so beautiful in its simplicity.

The reason I haven't read this before now? A 10k update in one post is freaking daunting to me, okay? So, I'm going to review this one by one and break it up bit by bit. I won't read it in one go (I'm hungry!) so I'll just have to come back and make this review freaking long slowly. Oh, well.

1.

I love this slice of Lisbon's life after Jane hot-footed it in 4x24. I LOVE that you show Lisbon as a well-rounded individual (like always), who actually has a life and friends and people who care about her beyond Jane (and people she cares about too.)

The set up is nice, I love how you spring the crime onto us and I LOVE how quickly Lisbon gets into action. It's always the smallest details in your fics that I utterly adore and this one is no exception.

2.

Oh, Lisbon and Van Pelt blossoming friendship/bonding. It's a stark contrast, going back to when it all began, especially on Grace's first day. I also find it very amusing how you've conveniently sidelined Jane for both of these scenarios. I love your early!Grace - all naivete, eager to please and desperate to do her best. When contrasted with Lisbon's sharp authority, quick thinking and wry sense of humour, it's a perfect compliment to who they were back in the show.

I'm also loving the case again. Again, they could both be full-blown cases - but you've delved straight into doing what you do best: action.

And yes, I did get very distracted by the woman's name. Ahem.

3.

Aw cute little Lisbon family time!

This one is definitely my favourite so far. The family is so happy and so whole in spite of the drama that is about to occur to them. The brothers are just charming (and Joseph Lisbon is totally canon, it is, it is, it is and I won't let anyone say otherwise). The family aspects are so realistic and (barring the falling into a hole and breaking bones) I can remember family holidays being so similar to what you've portrayed. ESPECIALLY the 'are we nearly there yet?' choruses which start fifteen minutes into the car ride ;).

As for the saving aspect - completely wonderful, so novel. It shows all the hallmarks of what Miss Teresa Lisbon will grow into - and shows why she is a good cop today. It's all innate and that's what I loved about this one.

4. How warm and sweet. Practically the very definition of 'fluff with a bite'. The 'saving' aspect of this one is really subtle but works so well, especially in contrast to the previous three. And the best line is totally "you look like a hamster." So odd, but definitely sounds like something Jane would say.

Chavez is also an awesome OC. I love the idea of Lisbon having had someone she vaguely dated at the academy, but is still working with him today. It's just nice and offers her the same sense of security that Bosco had back in the day. And now I'm missing Bosco. Damn.

5. So you treat us to both Van Pelt's first day and early Cho & Lisbon relationship? Nice. I love your Cho mindset so much because so few people are willing to take a chance and tackle him. I love that you've brought Chavez into this section which adds continuity to the whole thing - that's one of my favourite things in five times fics. Another awesome set up, another sense of both Cho and Lisbon's sense of humours and another great Lisbon-saves-the-day on an interesting case scenario. Have I said I love you lately? Because I really, really should.

And also, I miss you.

6. Okay, this one I had tears in my eyes. I love that the scenario was sheer dumb luck that ended up with her being in such a dangerous situation. I love how Jane reacted with sheer panic and determination to pull her out of there. I love the beginning, with the delightfully warm team moments and the are-they-aren't-they? discussions. I love the continuity again. I love the hospital scene, where everyone insists upon seeing her and I love Jane's offering of comforts.

You're amazing, and don't you dare try to argue otherwise because I'm not having any of it. *nods*

What a wonderfully delightful story. I loved how you included other members of the CBI team. And, though I knew it would be Jane to be the one who would save her, the ending was poignant and softly romantic. Good Job.

This was really cute.

I loved the fact that the tables were turned on Lisbon for the last part, I can actually imagine Jane doing that. I think that you captured the characters really well, and I adored the tiny hint of Rigsby/Van Pelt you included in the last part.

I found the whole thing just beautiful, really nothing I found even remotely wrong with it.

And I, being a Castle fan, loved the 'always' inclusion at the end. I don't know if that was conscious or not, but I still loved it.
