Reviews for Of Glass and Stars
Levade chapter 1 . 10/31/2015
Another great moment that you put so perfectly into words. Sam is one of my favorites. I love that at first he seems so simple and yet has such hidden depths and an incredibly heart. Beautiful piece!
nosmaeth chapter 1 . 10/10/2013
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. I adore the fact that you managed to capture Sam's personality and manner of speech and your narrative was still absolutely lyrical and beautiful.
Even the subject-matter is very original and refreshing, thank you for this!
Deandra chapter 1 . 9/30/2013
Again, my memory fails me, but dear Sam. PJ so short-changed him in the films (Frodo, too, for that matter). Not until I read the books did I really gain an appreciation for the two of them. This piece does well in bringing Sam to mind (I hear his voice in my head). It isn't always easy for writers to write as Sam and sound "real".

DancingChestnut chapter 1 . 7/12/2013
Words fail me.
This was beautiful. Beautiful.
iiiionly chapter 1 . 6/14/2013
Oh me too ... words fail me. This was indescribably wonderful. Perhaps here was the beginning of Sam's stories that would one day rival Mr. Bilbo's.

To see unreflected stars must have been a truly awesome sight, a visual that would stay with him for the rest of his life.

Beautiful!

CrackinAndProudOfIt chapter 1 . 2/23/2013
This is beautiful! I really enjoy your descriptions of the Mirrormere here; they're lovely and eloquent, but still very fitting of Sam's voice. This scene often seems to be overlooked, but it's really such a fascinating one. What a fantastic look at it! :)

Aranel Mereneth chapter 1 . 2/23/2013
Such a lovely story and written so well! :)
Gwedhiel chapter 1 . 2/19/2013
Wow. I have never read a piece with such delicate detail centered around the Mirrormere. So kudos to you for that. But writing this through Sam's eyes was so brilliant in that he has an innocence about him that can be treasured, especially in how he sees things that leave him in awe. That's what I loved the most about this. Delving into this peculiar part of Sam that can only be found in the books and that makes him such an interesting character. Thanks for writing this! And the descriptions were very clean cut and admirable.

AlickyNicholas chapter 1 . 2/19/2013
Lovely! You've given Sam a very discernible voice and captured his innocent and sweet wonder at the sights the wide world had in store for him during the quest. Beautiful imagery, as always! :)
Maiden of the Heavens chapter 1 . 2/19/2013
I loved it, you are doing an amazing job at writing these gap-fillers. :)

WargishBoromirFan chapter 1 . 2/18/2013
Sometimes the dwarf magic is just unexpected enough to leave a bigger impact than even the elves', even if this, like Bombadil, must be another story to be told another time. Nice job!
dreamflower02 chapter 1 . 2/18/2013
Oh my! This is so beautifully written, and you convey Sam's sense of wonder so well!

"They appeared to be suspended in those dark waters, so bright and clear and perfectly defined that he fancied he could dip his arm in and touch them. Yet, to disturb that enchanted mere seemed a desecration."

That is pure poetry!
