XanaduHawk chapter 2 . 10/22/2014 That is not peace; that's apathy - If it was peace there would be mourning for falling comrades. If it was peace there would be Autobots and Decepticons asking and accepting forgiveness from one another. If it was peace they wouldn't be acting like the war never happened. You can't make the past disappear, no matter how along and how hard you convince yourself it isn't real, because it is and no amount of willful ignorance will ever change it. Their actions have rendered the sacrifices (on both sides) made by countless individuals in vain; I hope they're proud of themselves. That being said, well done! Not many stories get me this wound up; you're very talented. |
Resident Evil Lionhart chapter 1 . 9/19/2014 Uhm, if they wanted to end the war and not seem like traitors, why didn't they just remove all insignias instead of wearing the Decepticon sigil? |
Bigby the Big Bad Wolf chapter 2 . 4/8/2014 I think it doesn't ake any sense that suddenly the Decepticons are good guys just because the ones in charge are dead. What makes them all of a sudden more righteous than the Autobots? Why didn't Prowl decide to throw away symbols once the war was over? No more Autobots, no more Decepticons, just Cybertronians? That would've make way more sense. I was hoping to see how Optimus and Elita-1 were going to interact (still think it's weird that Elita is apparently a mech in this story) and what Optimus was going to do. I'll be honest with you though, I wanted to see Prowl realize that he might've have ended this war, but he wound up doing more harm than he did good. In short, I wanted to see at least some of this bite the traitors on the aft. |
murdercrowther chapter 2 . 4/7/2014 This...was the most amazing piece of writing I have had the pleasure to read. I have always considered Prowl far more dark than most depictions of him, but I've never been able to capture it. But you do it brilliantly. When I first read your work, I couldn't wait for another chapter, but I never thought it would come. And now, I am happily surprised. Thank you for sharing this amazing piece of work. |
Dalu77 chapter 1 . 5/7/2013 Welcome vacant houses. My name is Olga, I'm from Russia. I really liked your work "His Most Loyal Servant". I can translate it into Russian if you allow it. Other readers in my country, too, will be interesting. Please, let me know your decision anyway. Sincerely Olga |
Sockstop chapter 1 . 2/20/2013 I love this, it is the most wonderfully original and realistic ending I have ever seen. The idea that once the Big Names are taken out, all that's left is to put the guns down. Very nice. |
Starfire201 chapter 1 . 2/16/2013 "The mech's smile dimmed. "Why not? When does it end Optimus? They killed Rewind, so what- I'll kill someone else in revenge. And then they'll kill me in revenge and another Autobot comes along and kills someone else and it won't ever stop. Unless I make the choice to stop. So I did. Just like Elita. Just like Prowl. Just like everyone else. It's just the Autobots that are keeping the hate going. Ain't ever gonna achieve anything if we continue like that."" In some ways, I think that paragraph sums quite a bit up. Some had just become so entrenched that they just couldn't see anymore. They were killing each other, driving themselves extinct, and for what? In the movieverse, my biggest issue was the kill first, ask questions later that showed up in RotF. No taking prisoners, not even trying to in fact, to get information. Blaster's words were something Optimus needed to hear. "You betrayed me! Betrayed us! Your oath, the Autobots and their cause. Everything. I did not. I have you done everything you asked me. You left me to stop a war that would continue forever. No one would surrender to the other, it was incomprehensible. The Autobots could never conquer the Decepticons and would eventually be wiped out by the Decepticons. Unless I tipped the balance. I became a Decepticon, lived amongst them and learnt how they thought. It wasn't easy, oh, it was not easy. But I made it work. There was no other option. He felt disjointed. He felt like he was going to purge his tanks. You were never an Autobot. And his voice was cold, colder than he had ever felt before. What had Prowl done? On the contrary, becoming a Decepticon was the most Autobot thing I could have ever done. I have preserved the highest numbers of lives that I could and I brought us all together. Is it not our rallying cry, Till all are one?" While it is easy to understand why Optimus feels so betrayed, after all by his own way of thinking, he is the Autobot leader and should have been the one to end the war on his own terms. The others also being held would also naturally have felt betrayed by their friends seemingly turning on them and making peace with the enemy. But as Jazz so succinctly pointed out, it was fast becoming a war of extinction, especially with the AllSpark gone. Whether it was found or not, mechs were going to be afraid of what would happen, and I have no doubt that there were a lot of them tired of the fighting, but because the leadership on both sides wouldn't back down, they were just trapped in a cycle that wouldn't end until someone said "enough". Prowl did a very good job, and yes, in the end he was more Autobot than most of the leadership. |
Bigby the Big Bad Wolf chapter 1 . 2/15/2013 Interesting concept. It seems the Decepticons are in control of the place, the Autobots have so many restrictions on them and who knows what else. I'm shocked Elita-1, Prowl, and so many bots had joined them. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone trying to convince Prime it's alright, especially Elita, but he knows the truth. It could be awesome to see Prime exile himself like he did in the IDW comics and all the Autobots, even Prowl and Elita, trying to convince him that he doesn't have to but he coldly rebuffs them, stating that Cybertron is no longer his home and he refuses to live in it. |
