I love this story! Love the way Chakotay confronts her and her response - I feel it is very plausible. I wish we could have seen something like this happen on the show.

Oh, how sweet and beautiful! It does get me wondering about Captain Kirk, though...he seemed to fall in love and lose his woman nearly every episode. I suppose he had Spock and McCoy to lean on, but I can't imagine them having a conversation like this with him...certainly not every week...though perhaps that's why there's so much Spock/Kirk slashfic...

Very moving. I would've liked to see Kathryn come to terms with her time on Quarra and how everything she had there was ripped away from her again, so I enjoyed your version of what might've happened very much!

Hearing and being faced with harsh reality isn't easy, and yet alone for the larger than life Captain Janeway. This is fantastic scene between them!
As I was reading this story, I was going "way to go Chakotay!". He did the only possible thing to make her see that going down the path she's chosen was destroying any chance she might have for happiness, and along the way his too. Another lovely story covering moments after another one of my faves episodes. Nice! :-)

You really just do have an awesome way of writing Chakotay. Both of them, and their unique relationship obviously, but in particular his voice. This story was just amazing, and so perfectly them. I also don't think I've ever seen Kathryn's guilt and tendencies towards martyrdom ever expressed so perfectly.

Oh, how I wish there had been a scene like this. No falling into bed or any of that, but a simple acknowledgement of feelings. And I note you never actually have her do that, which is very Kathryn, but the implication is there.

Beautifully done - you really have these characters down perfectly.
