cflat chapter 1 . 9/7/2013 Here's the thing. I liked the summary, but I just thought the story would maybe be a little different. Plus, I just thought it was odd how you mixed some people who died in the first war in with people who died in the second war. |
To the TARDIS chapter 1 . 1/20/2013 D': SO SAD! SIRI REMMY FRED HEDWIG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOO |
LoonyLouisStein chapter 1 . 12/20/2012 Thanks so much! Finally I read a fanfic where they spell Dorcas's last name right! |
Oriondruid chapter 1 . 12/20/2012 So sad and a good idea well written, but one thing, please remember that it's not 'canon' that Lavender Brown died in the Battle. Feel free of course to speculate she did, but just 'cos it happened in the film is no guide as to it's 'truth' in the Potterverse. Certain things in the Potter films have 'become canon' even though they never happened in the books, for instance the carving of the word mudblood on Hermione's arm by Bellatrix. 'Almost canon' things like that seem to gradually become accepted, like an unseen previous kiss between Ron and Hermione at Shell Cottage, the reason why this happens is obvious, because they make perfect sense, sometimes more indeed than them not happening. After all, who really believed that the first kiss between Ron and Hermione didn't happen until the Battle? :o) However, only Steve Klove, who wrote what passed for the 'screenplay' of the final film (and thereby made the story almost completely unrecognizable after the dragon escape) wrote that Lavender died. JKR never did, only that she fell and then was attacked by Fenrir Greyback, who was blasted off of her by Hermione. Last seen in the book she was badly injured, but alive. I along with many others here will never accept that our favorite character is dead and there have been many excellent stories featuring Lavender Brown post war from many great fan fiction writers, notably Sarcastrow and Northumbrian among many others. Other that point which I had to make, as someone more than a little in love with Lavender and as a hater of the final 'make it an action film and damn the narrative' version' by Steve Kloves , I thought this was an excellent story and well done. Many Blessings. Oriondruid, (John). |
