ksecc1 chapter 8 . 9/15 And now you’ve come full circle with the idea that Maia can be casually cruel even when they are without malice just because they are so different from elves. Such a fascinating idea. Did you have elrond’s acclimatization to the west back when you wrote the earlier story? It reminds me of the times the very first thing biblical angels say is “do not fear.” |
Someone chapter 30 . 6/21 ...By "rather still here" I mean I've literally been holding a browser tab open for all this time. And the most recent smile was but one of untold numbers. |
Someone chapter 30 . 6/21 I'm here again, or rather still here. Thank you for this chapter. It's an absolute delight, as ever. I haven't had the presence of mind to actually engage in a while, but once I find Arda again I will absolutely return. You brought a smile to my face. |
Amber chapter 30 . 4/5 So glad to see another chapter of this story/series. You should post them on Archive of Our Own (AO3) also. |
Helenllama chapter 30 . 4/5 Wow. I was really pleased to see this chapter. Hope the writers block is overcome. It was a really good scene and I liked the questions on whether Elrond vanishing into the wind to heal in wind, was truly solely due to Vilya or whether his Maia heritage has left him able to understand messages on the wind that was hinted on earlier in your stories. Hopefully someone will answer the questions soonish, be that Melian or another Maia or Vala. |
mystarlight chapter 30 . 4/5 Love love love! I was over the moon when I saw notification! Can't wait for another chapter. You are a wonderful writer! |
GreyLynx chapter 30 . 4/5 Thank you for another great chapter! :) |
azilou38 chapter 29 . 2/26 Your stories are just wonderful ! I read them all and I am sorry to have come to an end... so if someday you should feel the envy to continue your story, and even write others, be sure that I would greatly enjoy reading them ! |
ksecc1 chapter 29 . 2/15 This was such an amazing series! It has so many things: well rounded deep characters, action, tragedy, fluff, mystery... thank you so much for all the time and talent you poured into the whole series. If your muse ever decides to grace you with more chapters I will be ecstatic. But if not, I am still so so grateful that you’ve written so many beautiful, gut wrenching stories. And I’m also so glad you slipped in that the twins will sail. I was worried about it. Again, thank you! |
ksecc1 chapter 23 . 2/15 Your portrayal of Elrond makes me want to wrap him up in a warm blanket and feed him hot chocolate. He is so kind and yet so strong. I love seeing him and Dior help each other. |
ksecc1 chapter 15 . 2/15 Who would have thought a story of recovery from heart surgery would be so gripping? Did you look into open heart surgery before you wrote about the operating scene? It seems similar. |
ksecc1 chapter 14 . 2/15 The way you describe almost tangible familial bonds is so much fun. I also am happy to see Elwing ask for forgiveness. |
ksecc1 chapter 13 . 2/15 Wow. That was very dramatic. I enjoy how you combine the physical and the metaphysical. I kind of hate Isildur, though. |
ksecc1 chapter 10 . 2/15 I also enjoy your characterization of the Maiar. They are so other. They seem to be almost incapable on empathizing with the Peredhil. The ones that aren’t malicious are still fascinated, but try to modify their actions so as not to hurt them. Again, just a totally different view point than I had considered, but it makes sense and certainly works with tolkien’s Narrative. |
ksecc1 chapter 9 . 2/15 Aman is billed as the solution to all problems. But it’s also clear that both elves and Maia can create their own brand of evil, which can still occur in Aman. So I enjoy fics that deal with the challenges of arriving in this new and different world. But I had never thought that the journey itself might be perilous unless the Valar didn’t want to receive the person who is coming. So yet another new insight into the possible world of Tolkien. This story is so much fun! |
