I found this story referenced in DarkJediJade's Fragments so went to read it. It's beautifully dark, like Palpatine's spirit. Well done !

Smooth, Palpatine smooth. Quite a bedtime story isn't it? Very well written, andI didn't except the little plot twist.

This is perfect, perfectly captures the combination of affected affection and emotional abuse that I've always imagined Palpatine would have used to condition Mara into his service. Deeply creepy.

Very clever story. Great how Palpatine twists the perception of good and evil.

The idea of the Emperor telling a child a bedtime story is absurd and unbelievable unless it's THIS kind of bedtime story. A useful one. Very effective way to make sure she won't ask for any more bedtime stories. Some people really shouldn't have, raise, or work with children.

I knew it! You are one of the rare authors who understand the core of Palpatine's character, the deep-rooted belief that is the source of his rage and hatred: that he is the greatest of all beings, and anyone who doesn't treat him as such, or, worse, who tried to control him, is evil and deserves to die.

This is really disturbing bedtime reading, but I like it. Palpatine is just SO twisted.

This was a very interesting story. I enjoyed it very much. This is the first of it's kind and I loved the way you painted the story in two different views. One of which could be taken as beautiful and the other as scary for a little girl of Mara's age at the time of it. Very nice! I think on that note I will go to bed myself! Thanks for the bed time story!

Ok coherent review now I am actually awake! XD I love the subtle/bluntness (which is so Palpatine!) of the story Palpy tells. I said Grimm style story and you nailed it! The way it sounds all sweet and poetic, yet clearly describes the brutal murder of her parents is just awesome! Well not awesome for her, but you know what I mean lol.

I also love the little details you worked in about Iego and the falling star box. Also the note about her hanging on his every word and the way even at such an early age he's working with her sense of right and wrong to skew it.

I love love love this story! Thanks so much for writing it for me! :D

And the award for best parental figure of the year goes to...anyone who isn't Palpatine. In all seriousness though this was just brilliant. This seems like something Palpatine would do when Mara was younger. No one said being the Emperor's Hand was a pleasant experience. I have a feeling Palpatine got quite a kick out of telling this story. Yeah, I don't think she will be asking for anymore stories anytime soon.
