Reviews for Thoughts
Mouse chapter 1 . 7/29/2002
Moody. Thoughtful. Gorgeous.

I've never been the biggest fan of Idril (mainly because I've spent the last five months poking around inside Maeglin's head) but slowly my interest in her is growing. And I always wondered what exactly it was about Tuor that drew Idril to him ... yet here it is: their shared call to the sea.

Beautiful. Are you going to write more about these characters?

And by the way, welcome to Silmfics _
Joan Milligan chapter 1 . 7/27/2002
Yesss! *Dances!* Thank you so much for this wonderful, wonderful story! I thought I was the only one who cared about Idril and Tuor!

The melancholic air of this, the careful phrasing, it's wonderful. Short and simple, and yet conveys everything perfectly.

San Antonio Rose chapter 1 . 7/27/2002
Short, sweet (or bittersweet), to the point, and too deep for a wordy review. :) I can really feel Idril's restlessness and doubt, and Tuor's through her. This is a great look into their relationship, and it makes you wonder what exactly *did* happen to them.

I give it :) :) :) :) :) on the smiley scale. ;)
Philosopher At Large chapter 1 . 7/26/2002
I feel like one of those folktale heroes set to searching through a pile of wheat grains looking for a single pearl of barley - and finding it!

Amid the twenty-chapter 'Sues, the Pointless!Angst fics, the unfunny "Humor" - a lovely vignette that says so much more than those endless slews of words...

Thanks so much!
Finch chapter 1 . 7/26/2002
Ah! Yet another fanfiction writer who joins the Silmcrowd. You captured Idril's doubts very well. All the ships her father sent foundered, and it's far from certain if they'll ever reach the West (or what will happen if they do). In fact, this story makes me doubt they ever did, despite what was sung 'in after days'. Well-done. I especially liked the sentence 'is it but the echo of the Sea speaking to him?'
