Great story I like the fact that people played veep away with Turbo's helmet!

I also read this a while ago, but in a non-reviewable format, so here goes:

It does make sense. It's still well written. The further parallels to For The Love Of The Game make sense (or is that that fic nods back to this? One of the two). The characters remain engaging. Especially Turbo himself. And seeing more of your headcannon versions of Throttle and Piston too.

I do feel that Vanellope is a little out of character. Just a little. As she is my favorite character in the movie, I'm particularly adept at spotting it. I don't think she made a single quip through her (admittedly short) appearances. I do see that the situation is a little more serious then usual, but what about early on? Apart from her waving enthusiastically, there wasn't much of her usual snarky, child-like attitude. Nitpicking, I realize, but it is the only real problem I had with the story.

Otherwise, it works. The usage of the medal as a symbolic keepsake is a clever and effective echo. And Felix's attitude to Turbo posthumously against the crowd is effective as well. Never once does the one-shot drag, which I've often felt for lengthy one-shots. It is honestly a little gem, all 4,000 words of it.

Bottom line, the fic deserves it's 30 favorites. Take pride in that.

I'm sure you know by now I like to write long reviews for good stories, but not for this one. I've got to many feels to write them out so I'll just give you this bucket full of the tears I cried over this story. Here ya go-

Like your idea that Felix and Turbo used to be friends. On the subject of the TurboTwins names, I've always thought of them as Seth and Chet.

I'm impressed. You've colored Turbo in a way that adds to his characterization quite well.

oh man this story just warmed up my heart. i like to read the stories of turbo before he went all nuts and went game jumping. oh man i love it more when its him bein all nice. sigh

Holy shit! I mean, I just saw that you reviewed Ghost Boy a couple times and came to check out your stuff, but I had no idea that you wrote this little gem! I read this when it was first posted (on my phone, so I couldn't review) and loved it. In fact, it probably had some small influences on Ghost Boy, just because I loved it so much. The characterization was great, the concept was great, the friendship was great...it was just a great, great oneshot!

So, yeah. Awesome job, and now I'm legitimately honored to have you as a reader of my fic!

aw this was pretty bittersweet. I like to think that Turbo used to be a cool guy once myself so this was a nice read.
