Clever, sneaking Yodel in there. Very clever
Gunlord500 chapter 6 . 1/4/2014
TrimurtiWhat a pleasant surprise to see an update from you! :D I don't have time to leave a full review-gettin so busy nowadays-but I just wanted to pop by and say I enjoyed this chapter, as usual. Leon struck me at first as just another one of those "DEEP" artist guys, the ones who need to have everything absolutely perfect before they can even begin to pick up a brush. XD XD But the revelation of his identity at the end really took me by surprise...that was *very* well done. Wonderful work, as usual :D
shnickers chapter 1 . 7/23/2013
I cannot believe I didn't see that you had posted your sequel! I'm super excited to see something short from you. And in the 30 kisses format, no less! Definitely a less rigorous choice - this way, you can play around with fanfiction without being tied down.

You've always been so detail oriented, which is one of the reasons why you're my favorite author on this site, but I can definitely appreciate the extra research that went into maintaining such a high level of authenticity.

Just seeing the mention of so many familiar character names and descriptions makes me feel the same nostalgia of seeing old friends for the first time in years. I'm definitely going back to re-read "bouquet" before advancing on with "garden" because I do want to be able to avoid having to ask annoying questions about details I should already know. But... seeing as the summer is almost over, I better get a move on!

I always love your story, hope you can update soon :)
Mouse of Turin chapter 5 . 2/2/2013
Aw, I'm sorry this is going on hiatus. It was a very pleasant and worthwhile read. It feels "flowery" without getting lost in descriptive paragraphs.

You've been painting the ins and outs of the noble life very well - I would be utterly lost and scratching my head at all the subtleties and intricacies. Yay for Pent and Louise being able to navigate them all!

I'll be watching for this to come back. Good luck keeping on top of things until the summer!
Gunlord500 chapter 5 . 2/2/2013
"preforming her toilet"

Did you mean "performing?" :)

Anyways, not much I can say about this chapter either, except that it was lovely...lady of violets indeed. What a nice way to commemorate the anniversary :D You say you're just going on a hiatus rather than stopping the fic completely, so I hope you come back to it sometime, but even if you don't, this is a great way to send it off. Thanks for writing this, my friend...I'm honored to have received a dedication. :D :D :D
Gunlord500 chapter 4 . 2/2/2013
Wow, that's a really interesting discussion about free schools :o You really put a lot of thought into this story, indeed...though I've come to expect that from you XD

Hmm...the cleric's discussion with Pent sounded awfully modern. Again, well-thought out, but I got the feeling she might as well have been a nurse in a modern hospital...you may be trying to portray Etruria as a country closer to the 'modern' rather than the medieval, though :o

Also, poor Simon...I sympathize with how he feels, but I think Pent's argument is legitimate, and bringing up St. Elimine was a good choice.

Hmm, so the lieutenant-general is next in line to be the Mage General...or at least, everyone expects that? From FE7, though, we know its Pent...hmm. I bet you're planning something ;D

Oooh, something does seem to be up with Possa...I wonder if a very bad plot is afoot, judging by the extortion business...his uncle is a jerk :{ I really ought to re-read bouquet if he showed up before...

Damn, Nestor is pretty cynical...but understandably so, when it comes to the commoners, I guess. :/

Hmm, about the female mage generals, I was under the impression that Cecilia was the first, given how she mentions people didn't take her seriously in her position. It's been a while since I played FE6, though, so I could be wrong...

Very nice battle scene with the duel between Pent and the Lieutenant General :D

Lastly, wonderful authors notes...the stuff about titles and high and low nobility was fascinating. :D :D :D
Gunlord500 chapter 3 . 2/1/2013
I owe you 3 reviews! :O Time to get started...

Yay, I'm glad to see Nestor again, I remember him :D :D I also really like how you portray the ambiguities of Pent and Louise's marriage-they love each other very much, surely, but between Pent's problems with his papers (which I very much sympathize with ;_; ) and the issues raised by the offer of promotion within the military (very nice touch mentioning pregnancy-was it a reference to their A support at the end of the game, where Louise mentions something about a "life growing inside of her?") you do a good job of illustrating how marriage brings along its own set of issues no matter how much two people may love each other. Honestly can't say much more than that..."I am very much enjoying this" sums up pretty much everything! On to the next chappie :D

P.S: The ending scene was great. XD XD XD XD
Anthrax Pretzels chapter 4 . 1/21/2013
With the new Fire Emblem game coming out I've been on a franchise binge, haha.

I read bouquet a while back and absolutely loved it! Your knack for research really shows and I like how you've expanded on the world these characters come from. As a political science student, I kind of like thinking about noble interactions and the differences in noble/commoner political cultures. Very nice work on developing these settings. :D

It's very interesting how you balance this world-building with your characters. I write original fiction myself and keep to the idea of remembering that each character needs to want something and/or fear something throughout the process of the story. There are going to be parts where your characters are in the right and parts where they're in the wrong, when they mess up or have horrible things happen to them that they can't account for. The tricky part is keeping your protagonists likeable though they're going to be making mistakes. Throughout bouquet and this story, I feel like a lot of conflicts your characters face are more institutional conflicts outside of their own control, Louise especially. If there is any criticism I might offer, it's that you could take more risks with having your characters be the instigator and make more mistakes. It's challenging but can also add to how they develop. What would happen if Louise or Pent lose their patience? What if their relationship hits a rough patch with regards to Pent's travels or Louise's challenges to assimilating into Reglay?

Overall, though, your characters are wonderfully fleshed-out, which can be quite a challenge since Fire Emblem has such a large cast.

Please keep updating! I look forward to future chapters.
crazyemeralddragons chapter 3 . 1/14/2013
I love your writing to bits, and this is one that I always look forward to. With Bouquet and now this one, I've learned to love this pairing. So, I suppose I should say thank you for opening my eyes to this wonderful pairing!
Dango-Chan chapter 3 . 1/10/2013
This series is absolutely wonderful. I'm not a romance fan, and I'm new to the Fire Emblem fandom as of yesterday. I read Bouquet in one sitting, I was so entranced. You really have a way with words. The attention to minutia is fantastic. I really felt like I could see how every conversation and interaction between Pent and Louise added to their relationship. Not just between the two, either. How their relationships with the other characters also builds up their romance.

I confess I was growing tired with fanfiction until I read your works. I haven't even finished playing through Rekka no Ken (my first foray into the game series), though I am at the point where I do know Pent and Louise well. It is so refreshing to find something so beautiful by chance. Thank you. I appreciate the time and dedication needed to create a work of this quality. I'm so very looking forward to your next update.

anon chapter 3 . 1/8/2013
Let me just say I'm fascinated that you're able to work with themes and build them into a cohesive story. The depth you've brought to Elibe with your writing, style, and research is commendable. I love how even the smallest bits of dialogue and gestures work their way into building the picture of Pent and Louise's lives as shown in the game. Lady Jacqueline is an appreciated character, adding to the depth of the world and the interaction between her and the newlyweds is flawlessly written.
The length and quality of the work is a labor of love, it's obvious. I hope this story can receive the applause it deserves, but even if it does not, try and take pleasure in the process. This story absolutely has potential; I look forward to the next installment.
Sotsumi chapter 3 . 1/5/2013
I'm just so happy that you're writing about Pent and Louise again. I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing their relationship grow, and I cannot wait to read more.

Don't get discouraged! This is brilliant.
Zilver A. Hawk chapter 2 . 1/5/2013
Now, I don't have time to read the most recent chapter just yet, but I'm -really- loving this. You clearly did your research because this is the most in-depth fic I've ever read that focuses on aristocracy. A lot of people treat nobles no differently common folk and that's not the case. This almost reminded me something of straight out of Pride and Prejudice (which is probably why I loved it so much). Your descriptions are beautiful, and looking into Pent and Louise's minds just makes me smile. I love how you're focusing on problems that the nobles probably would have faced (like producing an heir). And can I just say how much I love this couple? You portray them fabulously. Please keep updating, and I'll do my best to keep reading!
