Interesting way to prepare Oswin as a new companion...train her in weaponry. :)

This was a great story! Certainly a possible - if not the actual - way for Jenna-Louise Coleman to return. I believe her name will be Clara though. That makes things difficult, but it's still not impossible. I'm set on the idea that Oswin really is Clara, mostly because I saw something (the prequel, a trailer, I don't remember what exactly) that had Jenna-Louise Coleman and Matt Smith adamantly denying that she could be the same character. It's as good as _telling_ us that she's going to be, right? Unless they're being clever, assuming we'll think that and just messing with our minds...

Anyway, I had lots of fun reading this story!

Gwen had broken off the affair with Owen before getting engaged to Rhys. I believe she and Owen broke up in the episode Combat, whereas Gwen didn't get engaged until the interim between Season 1 and Season 2 - of course, we didn't learn about that until Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. I'm glad she did; that affair was the worst idea (on the part of Owen, Gwen, and the writers) of the first season, as far as I'm concerned.

I like that you're making Oswin honorable like this. Truth be told, I like to think the same of Jack. As far as I can find, he's never been in more than one sexual relationship at a time without all the people involved consenting in it. Flirt with everyone, yes. Cheat...I really hope not.

I think the reason Jack kept the Vortex Manipulator was that, while it couldn't time travel or teleport, it could still do any number of other things. He uses it extensively in Torchwood -to scan things to control the invisible lift...to basically do any fairly simple task that needs doing. It's the Torchwood version of the Doctor's sonic screwdriver.

Oh, and because it looks good. :)

Ok, so I only clicked on this story because as it so happens, I've also written an Oswin story called "I am Human." But it's AU based around the idea that she was never converted. Anyway, I'm _loving_ this so far. I've never imagined a Dalek flirting with Jack before and it's strangely fun to visualize.

Ummm, If it was human-dalek conversion wouldn't she somehow be turned into a dalek? Not just stuffed inside one? Even so it is a really good fanfic.

This is so far a fun read... My daughter was Oswin for Halloween so I thought I'd give this a try ... Yay she didn't get blown up!
