Lmb111514 chapter 1 . 2/1/2019 This story was a lot like The Waning- I liked the plot of this one too, though, it was interesting to read. |
Diurnal Days chapter 1 . 2/18/2018 Holy moly. It's been a long time since I last read one of your fics. I've changed a lot, and as such I've forgotten just how much joy reading your writing brings me. O.o Søren is amazing. I hate that it's implied that Søren will hurt Arthur at some point in this timeline judging by how enthusiastically he desires to kill the love of Alfred's life in front of his eyes, but you perfectly captured his canon energy and boisterous edge, as much as it has fermented into sociopathy in this universe. I also seem to have forgotten just how beautifully and sensually you write scenes of intimacy between our favorite gays. I always find myself blushing and smiling at your descriptions of breath and lips meeting to declare Alfred and Arthur's beautiful love - no matter in which universe it is being described. Your kiss scenes are always such a pure win. Aaaaaaaa. 3333 As always, I want Alfred and Arthur to have a happy ending together, but in this AU of endless supernatural war and star-crossed love, and also considering who you are, I doubt that'll happen. But by god, I want their love to blossom further before the inevitable bloody end. God, I'm still struck by just how subtle yet powerful Alfred's love for Arthur is. He risks his life to continue meeting with his lover, risks his safety to feed Arthur with his own blood, and takes every opportunity to protect and love Arthur physically even though not doing so would be to his advantage. I also read his dialogue with Arthur as being in a low, soothing timbre that he doesn't allow anyone else to hear. I feel like there is some history behind them in this AU to make Alfred cling onto Arthur so dearly. Not that Arthur doesn't seem to love Alfred back - though he seems to have strained feelings due to his hellish situation, he definitely cares deeply for Alfred's safety and returns his physical affections. I'm in love with how you wrote their dynamic. 3 I also love how you blended history and supernatural elements together well into a fantastical yet not so fantastical universe of grime and stolen hopes. Mwah. Not a whole terrible much else to say about this satisfying oneshot. I assure you that more reviews are on the way, as I am currently reading through all of the usuk fanfics of yours that I apparently haven't reviewed yet so that I can fall back in love with your writing. I hope that you can post some more usuk fanfic someday, whether it's tomorrow or ten years from now. Whenever you write usuk fic, you bless this fandom and my soul forever. Diurnal Days (P.S. I'm not sure if you still remember this or not, but I am considering starting up my project to adapt Shatter into a doujin now that I've become more experienced at comics and art in general. I think that once I can find the time and the inspiration my technical skills currently are sufficient to at least attempt an adaptation. Hopefully this dream will come to fruition someday. ) |
Sakamaki Suzuku chapter 1 . 5/19/2017 ... congratulations on mastering the art of the eternal cliffhanger. |

ArkieR chapter 1 . 9/16/2015 O.O Oh my gosh, I absolutely adore this AU! |
faithfulbuddy chapter 1 . 8/30/2015 Great little oneshot. I liked the ending, even if it wasn't a happy one! ;) |
BigWhaleAndBlueBird chapter 1 . 5/11/2015 Ahaha! This is really good! Will it be continued? Lawl. I'll shut up now. |
AEngland chapter 1 . 12/18/2014 Gil, when you are on your game, you are my favorite douchebag arsehole. But, forgive my sentimentality, I shall ALWAYS be cheering on Arty and Al...no matter their incarnation or hopeless situation. Chew on THAT Soren! ;) |
Katherine A. Jones chapter 1 . 5/4/2014 ...Now I'm really mad at Gilbert. I love how you used the quote from Romeo and Juliet because this was very reminiscent of that play. You did a fantastic job writing this! I can't wait to read more of your stories. |
KawaiiGuroQueen chapter 1 . 12/7/2013 This one of the best story's I've read. Please update soon! |
InvaderPey chapter 1 . 10/30/2013 You should seriously continue this! It's very unique. I don't think I've read a fanfic like it! |
Kalina chapter 1 . 8/6/2013 You are seriously one of my favorite authors, dude. No joke, you're awesome. |
gomogomo777 chapter 1 . 6/22/2013 I just love monster stories! And let me tell you, this one takes the cake! |
Oniongrass chapter 1 . 11/5/2012 Wow...I...jeez, I thought I liked chainsaw Alfred before, but this version? *love multiplies by a thousand* The thought of him being a supernatural slayer in WW2, slinging a roaring chainsaw around on a battlefield and slicing up monsters is...*fans self*. And the forbidden love angle was done rather refreshingly; yes, the "different worlds/species thing" is old, and vampirexhuman thing is one of the worst offenders, but it just wasn't written in such a cliche way, or you did something else right, all I know is it did not make me roll my eyes and suffer through, I really enjoyed it. And yes, someone else who knows and enjoys the Awesome Trio, hallelujah! (The thought of Denmark swinging around his ax on the battlefield was a very nice image too, btw ;)) And Prussia as a demon was both clever and strangely fit him (a little frighteningly) well. Oh man though, what a douche move he pulls in the end! But at least he has the demon excuse now, unlike his nations counterpart. |
TheLadyJazz chapter 1 . 10/24/2012 I hated the last line about nobody getting a happy ending. It left a lasting impression on me that's for sure. This story is beautiful in that it feels incomplete but I think you left it open-ended on purpose. Still, there's that element of pure, unadulterated USUK love that's present and that's what made the story less dark and more bearable for me to read. Not saying I didn't like this fic, because I do. |
