"There was no if." I liked the determination you wrote in that concluding sentence. You really explored some different emotions on a deeper level in this story. Again, your story goes along so well with that point in the series. Your interaction between Niles and Daphne fits so well for that point in the series - a time inthe series not so frequently cited. I also liked your analogy of Daphne with the image of the lioness - that's an often unexplored side of her character. If you decided to write further about Niles' surgery and recovery, I'm sure you would do an excellent job!

Oh, wow...another great story! So beautiful. I love Frasier knowing the poem after Niles quoted from it. So like him. And the last sentence took my breath away. Great job! *hugs*

Wow! This was tough to read but in the best of ways. It was heartbreaking to hear Niles saying the same phrase over and over in that hazy state of his. Poor Daphne! She held on as much as she could and I liked that you kept her tears at bay. Once again, you have made me cry with this story and I couldn't be more thrilled. Misery or sadness is an awesome ingredient in any story. Makes me enjoy them more, hehe.
