Ryah Ignis chapter 1 . 12/3/2012 Oh my goodness. I loved how insecure Ginny was, trying to do her best to fit in but still failing. I also adored how Tom manipulated her. Like the locket, I think that the diary number Ginny's personality and preyed on her insecurities. Thus, it wasn't easy for her to make friends because of he influence. I loved th line about Ginny's quill being delicately balanced for some reason. I think it reminded me of her life at the time. Anyway, I love your writing and keep up the great work! |
Exceeds Expectations chapter 1 . 10/29/2012 Well. Wow. Poor Ginny. I love how you've contrasted the innocence of the beginning with the horror of the end, so very harsh. I really like the how she spoke about Harry as well; she's not sure why she likes him, but she /does/. That's how things happen in real life, don't they? The ending is sort of twistedly beautiful. It's so sudden and stark, which I think actually adds to the fic because that's what Ginny's life would have been. That's what Ginny would have felt like, and I commend you on recognising that fact. :) |
Abigail Belle chapter 1 . 10/20/2012 This, right here, was exceedingly creepy. I loved how Tom manipulates Ginny (so easily...) and his fascination in it, of course. It was all very freaky, very... Voldemortish... And the end gave me chills... |
conquerors chapter 1 . 10/19/2012 I really like your characterization of Ginny and I love that she can't identify what it is about Harry that makes her like him so much, because that's usually how it is in real life. This flowed really well and both Ginny and Tom seemed in character - well, Tom's portrayal of himself as a nice person is in character - and this fits well with the storyline of the book. |
alverixorcustransfrogamorphus chapter 1 . 10/16/2012 Tom you little manipulative bastard! It's like he retconed her to forget all of the details of writing on the wall. Ginny's infatuation with Harry is very realistic and its nice to see what she actually thinks, seeing as that wasn't explored in the books :) Great job! (Oops, just realised that I was releasing my inner geek when I said retcon... It means that you don't remember anything about a specific event :) |
x-NewGirlInTown-x chapter 1 . 10/15/2012 This was really good! Loved your characterisation of Ginny, I like how even at such a young age she's annoyed with her girly, childish ways - that's always how I saw her in the books :) Loved how you moved from the trivial chat to the sinister ending as well, it was a smooth transition. Would have liked to have seen more detail though - I know you had a word limit at the time, but have you ever thought about expanding this? Or maybe even extending it? I think you could create something really powerful if you took us through their interactions from here up until Ginny was taken, really show how she begins to lose control over it...just something to think about :) Nice fic! :D |
Selenehekate chapter 1 . 10/13/2012 Epic ending. I love the way she's washing the blood off of her hands. Geez, Tom is really creepy in this, though! I love the way that you write their relationship. Well done! I have no complaints. :) |
Couture Girl chapter 1 . 10/10/2012 Wow, this was creepy. The last line made me shiver. I've always wanted to J.K. to have written this on the books-but well it was Harry Potter for a reason, Harry's POV not the rest. But this was really great and I liked it a lot. The last few paragraphs were my favorite and I would have loved if you would have added on Ginny's feelings or thoughts of not knowing what had happened-why she had the blood. But I understand the word count chad to be done! You did really well on writing little and still making the reader feel emotions like these :) Much love! C.G. |
still kat chapter 1 . 10/10/2012 I like how, even though Ginny is trying to be sensible, she describes Harry as 'charming.' He may be many wonderful things, but 'charming' is probably not one of them. The conversation between her and Tom I found interesting and I think you wrote it quite well, putting in the right amount of panic into Tom's closing words and trust into Ginny's. Great story! |
autumn midnights chapter 1 . 10/9/2012 This was really good. I find the whole diary!Tom/Ginny interaction and plot to be very interesting, and I think you wrote it very well. Ginny is very in-character, and her emotions and writing definitely seems like the sort of thing an eleven-year-old would think. Tom's responses also fit with what we know of him from canon and how he responded to Ginny's ramblings about Harry. Haha, I loved the 'and not affected by his fame the way Professor Lockhart is', that just made me smile. The ending is absolutely perfect, you did a great job changing the tone of this from an eleven-year-old's worries about her crush to the whole Chamber of Secrets plot. Again, no SPaG problems that I saw, and I like how Tom seemed to get a little worried, in a way, when Ginny mentioned losing or giving away the book. Great work! |
silver-nightstorm chapter 1 . 10/9/2012 Fabulous! I really like the way you had Tom be pushy, but not pushy enough to completely push out Ginny. I also like how she tries to explain her crush to him, it's very cute when she can't really describe why she likes Harry. |
queen-sheep chapter 1 . 10/8/2012 Brilliantly written! I can really see how much Ginny cares about Harry in the way she describes him. A lot of people bash on her because they think she only likes him because he's famous. Great work! :) |
Ralinde chapter 1 . 10/8/2012 I like this story. I can totally see Ginny writing something like this in the diary of Tom Riddle and Tom answering the way he does. The last paragraph was a bit abrupt, but maybe that was just me. |
ProfessorSquirrell chapter 1 . 10/6/2012 This is fascinating. I really love Tom/Ginny fics and it really bothered me that we didn't see more in the books about the aftermath and it's affect on Ginny because I'm sure there was one. The conversation was nicely done and I love the details like Tom writing back faster in panic because he doesn't want her to give him away. And the sly way he gets her to say that he's her friend and then that friends do favors for each other was just so very Tom. Wonderful job! |
Fire The Canon chapter 1 . 10/5/2012 Oooh, intriguing. I really love that you wrote this. It was nice to see what Ginny could have written in the diary. We know the basics, but not the details and I think that you made it pretty in character for her. There was just something about this I really liked, but can't really put my finger on it. It was just very fascinating. The only thing I would have done was move "The next thing Ginny remembered..." onto its own line. It would have made it more powerful in my opinion. Other than that, very nice! |
