Stacey1973 chapter 1 . 9/26/2019 This was amazing, had me hooked from beginning to end. You captured them perfectly |
ngregory763 chapter 1 . 1/17/2018 Gonna have to favorite this one. What an amazing job you do with filling in the back story! Dean never cared what anyone but Sam thought of him... *sifh* |
Iuvsbruce chapter 1 . 9/30/2017 I love this! I know realistically that this is your imagination, but you write with such strength that it makes me believe all of it is canon. You blow me away every time. Thank you so much! God bless you, Sweetie! |
Fi Suki Saki chapter 1 . 1/13/2015 This... Oh my God... ! One of my Best favourite of Yours ! (well, most fic I had read already of yours is my favourite too, though.) Dean really remember all of those memories ! And Dean's fear of Sam scared or reject him after the killing was Amazingly almost Heart breaking ! But I know Sam would understand and never fear or reject him because of that. This is... I LOVE IT ! |
NoilyPrat chapter 1 . 11/23/2014 I really like the glimpses you gave into their past lives. Also the way it was inserted at the beginning, with no warning as to WHY Dean was telling Sam about being a beet ... and then later, everything understood at the hospital. Love the opener, when they both KNEW what the bad thing was... LOL! wow about the 11 yr old hunter, poor guy. |
NightShadow131 chapter 1 . 2/12/2014 Lmao, I just loove the beginning! Overlapping each other with different monsters, lol. I could see them doing this on different occasions. xD Unusual that they are not on the same team as far as onlookers go: Dean being a reporter and Sam being an agent, but I could see the need for it on multiple cases. I like how Dean watches to make sure no one notices them, though. Talking to each other outside a motel would probably be suspicious already, lol. Oh well. I can't help but think that maybe Trinidad might have been watching them already. ;-; I am soo glad that Dean wasted that guy. He deserved even worse, human or not. I like how Dean was so shaken by killing him in front of Sam. Seems like the perfect reaction, especially by your description that he always knew 'he was a killer' but that he tried to hide it from Sammy. But of course his little brother would understand. Man, I loved how you had Sam come after him, even with his fracture. Love makes ya able to ignore injuries when you know your loved one is hurting, and, man, just perfect. I like how Dean realizes it, too, and even still can't bring himself to get up and support Sam when he knows he needs it because of his shame. And little Sammy's "Got it?" Aww, I could see that. I love the little snippets of their life that you put in your stories. It makes them very unique and more enjoyable, and made me realize that it is a great addition to any story (as long as you don't put it in random spots, of course, like you never do!). n.n Speaking of background, I loved, looved your stories from Dean, and how you made them so engaging even through just dialogue alone. The insight into John was an excellent touch, although it was heartbreaking to hear Sam say it was like they were raised separately, even if true. ;-; And the last story is just so freakin' sad. I mean, we all know how much John made Dean miss out on his childhood, but treating him differently especially after that... Ouch. I mean, it isn't like the main thing he drilled into Dean was 'protect Sammy'. And it was the right thing in their book. Poor Dean. I always feel so bad for him when it comes to his past. It is sad all the lies they told Sammy when he was younger, but I can see why they did it to protect him. I think it was all kinda pointless, though. Yeah, he got to keep his innocence a bit longer, but what good did that really do? I mean, maybe it made him more compassionate in the end... Who knows? Lol. And the rubbers he put in Sam's bag! Lol. I could soo see Dean doing that. I love how you had both Dean and John looking after Sam while at school - checking Jessica's background as well. Interesting how Brady got by... xD Ah well. Loved it. I'm very glad that Dean didn't also have to deal with the law too much in this either. I cringed at that scene, where the clear liquid came outta Sam's ear... Scary when you're in the middle of a massacre. I felt for Dean during that. You just described his panic so well, understanding the need to call for help and not move Sam, especially since he was thinking the crack might have been his neck or spine. I was worried too! Can't imagine something like that happening to either one of them. Eesh. Glad it wasn't! Man, I just love how thought-out your fics are. How you get everyone down perfectly, and create such awesome scenarios with new characters - whether good or bad. They're all very believable, making you either hate them or like them, feeling everyone's emotions like you were there. Lol, the end. Probably! xD Also, I'd want Sam's dorm room after he left! Just needs some salt... :D |
TolkienGirl chapter 1 . 1/26/2014 Great story! I love your work and your ability to delve into the characters. The flashbacks were especially great. |
JuseaPeterson chapter 1 . 12/17/2013 I really loved this. I love how you have the parts where Dean is telling stories interspaced throughout the whole thing. The story itself is interesting and I loved how the memories fit in. I love how Dean was worried about Sam seeing him kill someone but I’m glad Sam showed Dean that he still cared about him and it didn’t make him see Dean in a lesser light. I thought you did a beautiful job with this whole thing, and once more you captured the characters and their relationship, including John’s perfectly. |
SqueeFreak chapter 1 . 12/5/2013 I absolutely love this story! Your work is fabulous and I can never get enough. I love how you write the brothers and get so deep into their psyches. So awesome! :) |
Freya922 chapter 1 . 7/13/2013 Wow, this story combined such compelling elements. Sam's injury was incredibly scary, and Dean's sharing of vignettes throughout their lives while keeping watch over his brother was so touching... Add to that his horror when he fears Sam has seen the 'real' him - and Sam's instant understanding and reassurance despite his injuries - terrific. |
sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 6/17/2013 This is one of my absolute favorite stories from you. Everything about it is perfect. As always, the characterization and turns of phrase are really great. And then, not only is there a really good story and villain that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, but all of those back flashes, the stories Dean was telling Sam when he was knocked out and recovering and they all told such important and varied parts of their life growing up and how their dad was better than Sam ever remembered and it just illuminated so much of what I think their early life had been and you did it so well. I just loved the ideas and everything about this piece. LOVED IT SO MUCH. |
Shazza chapter 1 . 5/29/2013 This was truly complex and beautiful story. I loved all the family history that we learned while Dean was talking Sam through his skull fracture. When we go though the eras of intense separation between the brothers I love to be reminded of the times they could read each other so well. Many thanks . |
SayLo chapter 1 . 5/5/2013 Awe iove this fic |
RenewedBlade chapter 1 . 12/2/2012 Loved it. They do really keep each other human, don't they? (In this case probably more of Sam keeping Dean human.) It was wonderfully written, loved every bit of it. Thank you for sharing! R.B. |
Death-Muncher chapter 1 . 11/29/2012 What a wonderful story :) :D |
