Was hoping you hadn't forgotten this story, so am glad to see an update. A roller-coaster of a chapter, starting with the nice buildup with the play between Q & B in the beginning. That Russell is a nasty piece of work tho, wasn't expecting something quite that harsh. It was kind of like a slap in the face after reading the fluffy moment, so it was an effective way of bringing up some of the same emotions that I imagine Quinn's character is going through. Also, a reminder of the cruel reality of her circumstances of being a young woman living in that era. Well done transition back to B, who seems to be Quinn's ray of light in the darkness. The story they read and the intimacy of their shared reading was a nice touch. Great climatic ending for the chapter, even if a bit cruel to end it there. ;p
Then to read that you're putting this story on hiatus...disappointing, but hopefully it won't be a very long wait.

U are an frickin boss. Love the progression and the pacing is absolutely perfect. Ur syntax is so accurate, and trust me, my family is from Hull, England. I realize u don't get many reviews but you have to keep going. I love your story so much so far, so keep up the good work!

Great chapter, love all the Quinn & Brittany moments. Especially the ending where you think they're about to kiss. Though that would have been great, I like how you set the story at a more realistic pace and allow it to build up.

I like the way the story is progressing. Although Quinn did run and had her moment of panic, the scene where she's talking with her horse was a nice touch - because she really has no one else to talk with about this. Good job describing her internal dialogue, her confusion and the way she's trying to rationalize the kiss. I'm happy that she hasn't totally shut herself off from Brittany. Although she's still confused she can't help but be drawn to her and is making some attempt at developing a friendship with her. The level of slight awkwardness between them is cute & fun to read. Very curious to see what Quinn is about to do next, especially since she's now a bit tipsy and liable to cause a scene...

Regarding your A/N: I haven't really given much thought to John, perhaps since he's a relatively minor character. I think OC's can be irritating, but usually only when the author makes them too much of a major character, but that hasn't happened here so far. But even if he does become more predominant later on, I don't see that as a major problem for this story as long as the main focus stays on Quinn & Brittany.

Great chapter, especially their first kiss. Good job building up the tension and I like how you haven't made it overly easy for them to be together. Given the circumstances and period of the story, as well as Quinn's resistant nature, it makes sense that it would be a bit of a struggle. Brittany just going for it without really thinking about it is also believable. Looking forward to how Quinn responds to Brittany in the next chapter.
