This is so great, darling, this is honestly great! Jimmy's characterization is so whole and genuine. Let me tell you something, I've always struggled with getting his perspective right because it's hard to even fathom how messed up he must be, and it's like painting a splotch of wacky on a canvas of normalcy but YOU! You just immersed me so far into his brain it was like I was standing inside of it looking up at his skull.

"something a little less Nuclear and a little more Hannibal Lector" and all the stuff after he realizes Edgar's parents were okay with it is so alien and perfectly smooth and fascinating. Like he wants everything being offered to him but he doesn't understand it and it frightens him. oh man

The whole final sequence! First of all, all Edgar's lines about how he thought that Jimmy was waiting for him to be okay with it OH MY SWEET FUCK that fact, the way he says it, everything it means! I'm having like intense boners for your characterization, especially how you pack so much pure Edgar into such a little echange when the fic as a whole is really Jimmy's story alone. And Edgar knows where his bag is! So much for so little.

And the ambiguity! It's perfect! Because I know that everything turns out alright, but it makes you really stop and consider things in a way that a concrete ending wouldn't have. The placing is perfect. I just can't. Valerie, I just can't. The fic is good but it's the ending that really pulls the whole thing together and makes it beautiful.
