Well, Pikachu and Espeon are jerks(best wingmans) but jerks nonetheless. Blue is still insuferable like in the game but more likable(really seem like a bro). Leaf was adorable(when is she not, right?). Ruby in this fic is May Birch right?
You shoulda added Crystal to this fic and paired her with Ethan and paired Lyra with Silver.

I think Ash's mother is Leaf's counterpart or something. It would make sense since she has a that can battle well.

nice story, it may be weird at this point since you already set up their characteristics but it would be fun to make red even more oblivious and stoic.
It would also be better to make it seem like an actual competition(love life), make an actual known or unknown(preferably Known) character who will be relevant in most parts of your story be attracted to Red(Lyra, Ruby-whoever she is, etc.), it's more fun that way, unless of course you don't want your story to lead down that path.
I actually prefer if it was third person, I'm okay either way though.

I'm enjoying the relationship developing between Red and Leaf so far. Hopefully next chapter we'll see blue. I also hope the next update wont take another year. :/
