Hi... I thought I'd take a break from reading and write a review. I avoided your stories for years, because the tags are too dark and when I scrolled through, it was too sexual (?). Your Legolas is not the usual innocent and "perfect" Legolas found in this fandom. But I'm intrigued with the Sons of Thunder II (subscribed, but haven't read it), and so I decided to read the MDLW, before I start reading Sons of Thunder (is this a correct start?). I think I've read the dragon story with Laersul and Thalos sometimes in the past, about the dragon demanding wood-elf, that the first one I think. So I found that I fell in love with this MDLW. So much that I keep on stopping, because I'm afraid it's going to end!

Your story inspire me to actively hunt Silmarillion. I've been waiting for that book since 2006, but there's no book store selling them here. Glimpses of the past in your story made me want to read it more.

I really love your characters despite them written with personalities I never thought I would ever like. You wrote them really well. This is the first time I've ever felt how truly old Glorfindel and Erestor was. You have a way of describing the character's age and personality, introducing their presence without directly spelling it into your readers in words.

Um...is Legolas serious about eating Orc flesh? Because the first orcs were elves captured by Morgoth and Sauron and tortured and twisted into orcs. So, Mirkwoodians are cannibals?

Ah-ha, and so another layer of Elrohir's trauma is revealed. Without intervention, sexual trauma (especially in childhood or formative years) can indeed change the ways one views one's own body, and the bodies of others, especially if there are other trauma symptoms, such as disassociation. Trauma is very complicated. Loss is very complicated, and grief. Some people process these things through anger, and when elrohir is angry, he is violent, and when he is violent, he lusts-a conflagration of pain and desire, based perhaps in a chronic lack of control, and a subjugation of will, as a youth. All of that perhaps well-managed until triggered and released with the death of his mother. Perhaps, even, his own lustful thoughts of Legolas a form of self-harm; following the orcs a form of benediction, obviously, but also perhaps punishment for his sins and, unfairly, for the sins enacted upon him.

Though I'm likely overthinking it, it is an interesting way for me to consider your Elrohir. suddenly, as a social worker, Elrohir's entire arc makes a little more sense to me.

Your characters' back stories are all so well fleshed out, and seem so well-known to you. It is impressive. Thanks for writing!

I loved the scene with the eagle, as well as the hobbits. So very...bookish. Feels like home!

Your Frodo, Sam, merry, and pippin all have such distinct personalities, which I have noticed-as a writer as well as reader-can be difficult to do. Well done! Looking forward to the rest.

One of my favorite chapters I have ever read. The relationships between the characters in this chapter are strong and extraordinary. There are some qualities emerging that predict legolas' selection for the quest as well-well-written. I loved the sensory description you wrote in the scene where they hid from the nazgul. I'm greatly enjoying the beginning of this story. The Mirkwood you have created is vivid and believable-much like the one I have in my own head. I can't express how much I enjoyed the scenes when Laersul's company returned-painful and hard to read, but very well written. The idea of legolas choosing to save his brother instead of delivering the merciful cut (the idea of mercy killing in wartime has always been a fascinating and heartbreaking idea to me) is powerful-I can see this becoming a theme in this series. I look forward to finding out what happens, and how this weaves into FotR! Thank you for sharing.

xD That literally caught me off guard.. Berensul is cute! XD and omg... hahahhaha... is Legolas a dom?! always? X3 and oh man, I really thought it was Erestor, but then Elrond... hahahhaha... Nice one!

I really found it funny in the last chapter how Alagos was scolding legolas not to get Arwen and Elrond into his bed, including some warriors from imladris, but the best part was him trying to push Legolas to get Glorfindel to fondue... hahhahahha xD this is such a difference in character, it's quite good, but i guess you got that from my other reviews...

Man, Galion was weird, but lovely! Different from the usual stories of him being passive. Who knew he can be made to joke around. But you just keep surprising me with Legolas... i just can't see him as this peppy happy doing pleasurable things and naughty thoughts, I can always see Legolas being silent and a bit clueless... but omg.. you MAKE IT WORK! XD And i just LOVE that in this story.

If you ever take on requests... maybe you can do some hard one like a time travel/Dimension travel.. where the woodelves of your world get to meet shy, council worthy legolas that's friends with the imladris elves. hahaha xD just a thought...
