Reviews for History Repeats Itself
Kamijou Takako chapter 1 . 3/15/2018
This is really sad... I pity Tom because look at these events from his perspective. At age 6, he finally gets a family only to lose them, then go down the path of dark arts. He grows older then a follower comes to him with a prophecy about his downfall. He goes to kill this baby... slays his father as if it was nothing then proceeds onto the mother... only to see a pair of familiar AK green eyes. He offers to let her live, not just because of his promise to his loyal follower, but because of her eyes. Alas, he kills her then moves onto the baby that shows no fear and he sees the eyes again but now he also shares the name of his dearly beloved dead brother... He casts the curse with a heavy heart, only for it to rebound on him...
Years pass by until a young man wanders near by in the forests of Albania. They strike a bargain and then they leave to attain the Philosopher's stone but they were too late... it was moved to Hogwarts... He punishes his servant and then as one body attains the position he so dearly wanted... Professor of the Dark Arts.
It's the first day of school and the sorting has begun... He waits for his vanquisher to be sorted but before it's called... There's a girl by the name of Hermione Granger... He forgets to breathe, it's just a name he says to himself... after what seems like an eternity, she is placed in Gryffindor, more names are called... Most of his followers offspring ends up in Slytherin... Then comes Harry Potter, he wonders what the boy looks like now... Does he look even more like in elder brother? Eventually, he is sorted into Gryffindor as expected then his heart stops for a second time... Ronald Weasley. He wants to take control of his slave's body just to see these three Gryffindors with his own eyes...
Weeks pass, though he cannot see them, he listens... He knows that Ron and Harry are friends and later, after his troll, Hermione joins the duo...
It's the end of the year, he wasted too much time, he needs to get the stone. He passes the challenges with minimal issues and stands in front of the mirror... A new presence enters the chamber, it's the boy, Harry. His servant is getting nowhere so he removed the turban... But he didn't fully thinks it through, he is facing the mirror... the boy can see him but for a moment he forgets everything but the image in front of him. It's him without all his abnormalities, he looks human and he is surrounded by his siblings. Hermione looks on fondly, Ron has on a rare smile and Harry... Harry is hugging him from behind and is promising that he'll never be alone again. For a moment, he pauses then his eyes focused to the boy behind him and he utters the word "Harry...Potter" not Pervell, he's dead much like the other two but they look so alike... He then gives him the offer to join him, so he could have his brother again even if it is only a look alike, he doesn't care. He refused, they fight and then his servant's body fails him and he is a wraith once more.
Two years pass, before a rat joins him with news of the world outside his forest. He listens to the tales about the rat's escape, he cares not about how but about the three Gryffindors...
Another year goes and he has attained a new body... Then he thinks back to how he attained it. Freeing a servant he long thought dead, tricking his brother's doubleganger into a tournament, only to use his blood in his resurection. The pain he felt on seeing his boy again three years later and having him look even more like his Harry, his dead Harry. Having to see what for moments be his brother under his torture curse, not once but twice... The small twinge of relief on his escape, just to see his brother's eyes alive and open for another day.
The plotting to attain the prophecy that set him on this path, only for it to be broken. Discovering little facts about Potter their connection and his ability to speak Parseltounge. And finally seeing the other two with his siblings names, they also look that if they could pass as their younger selves... As much as he wants them dead, he wants them alive as well to live in his perfect world... The one he wanted to create for his ... siblings. No they must die.
For the next year, these thoughts plague his mind, while he plans Dumbledore's death. He did it, the old goat is dead... He now plans to kill Potter, right as he moves away from his relatives protection. Their wands connect and he losses...
The elder wand... The deadly hallows... Master of Death... The Pervell brother's... Pervell siblings... His siblings. He wonders if there is life after death... Reincarnation...the golden trio and his elder siblings. He ponders that for days in the comfort of his rooms. He nearly kills Bellatrix after learning what she did to his elder sister, no for letting them and the mudblood, not his sister, escape.
He fears Death, he knows that, he's checking up on his Horcruxes only to find one by one that they are destroyed... He thinks back to the Gaunt ring and wondering while racing to Hogwarts, if that weird stone was the Resurection stone... Could he see his siblings again... He was descended from the second brother but he was too late... Perhaps Severus or Ha... Potter knows what became of it.
The Battle of Hogwarts has begun, people falling on both sides, he sees his siblings... Not siblings fighting... He calls for a break... Harry arrives to his death... The pain, all the pain, he hears faint murmurs, then it all stops... He's back and his brother is ...dead again. No, he's not... He sends someone to check. He's dead. What's this pain? It hurts. That is not your brother, he says, he's been dead for over 50 years because of Dumbledore's inability to face Grindelwald. They move on, he hears his siblings cry for him... He wants to comfort them but can't, these are not his siblings... The fight resumes and Harry is not dead. He feels elated, then he dies... For good.
He's in purgatory, not being allowed to cross over until something happens... He sees his not siblings reassure themselves that they are all alive... They celebrate and come across Professor Slughorn. He's drinking, then sees them together and comments how much they look like the Pervell siblings... And tells them a story they have never heard before. A story of a young Tom... They are perplexed, Harry especially so after going through the memories with Dumbledore over Tom's life but he never heard about them... Then he thinks back, the memory of the orphanage... It was different from the others... almost as if he was seeing it out of a second pair of lens. The trio confronts the portrait... only to be pointed towards a new set of memories... of their older selves in the past raising Tom...
The following years were a blur, between getting more evidence about the past from various sources like the second generation death eater's with parents who were apart from the original Knights of Wargpas, to portraits of those members, boy did Abraxus Malfoy look shocked, while trying to find a way back to the past to see if they could try to save Tom another time...
Tom sees them vanish in a flash of light with tears in his eyes, before feeling someone hugging him from behind... "You'll never be alone again. I promise you, Tom" a voice whispers in his ear. He doesn't need to turn around to know that it is his Harry behind him along with two different hands grabbing his arms. He's not alone. Tom says nothing before boarding the Hogwarts Express with his siblings trailing behind him...

Sorry, I needed to vent, damnit, it's so sad... It's better to not have than it is to have had it at all... It hurts more when it's gone.

soaring freedom chapter 1 . 5/2/2013
this story was simply amazing and very well written, and it had a twist that changed the cliche plot line into something new.
i loved the trio's personalty very much, and i would really love to see a sequel or maybe just a new chapter to clarify some things in the fic ,like the trio's background and their apparent "death".
Ra Czelabiska chapter 1 . 2/15/2013
I'm slightly dumb because of Golden Trio's death.
Why? For what? It happened so fast and I didn't catch it completely.
But the moral of this tale is significant, striking. And so utterly sad.
Iellmy chapter 1 . 8/21/2012

but I really feel sad.
boniro12 chapter 1 . 8/9/2012
Brilliant!and its rather sad. But i love the golden trio characters. If only its a longer story. Thank you for sharing this. Please make sequel or AU of this story or whatever to make their happy ending *puppy eyes*
Qin chapter 1 . 8/8/2012
This is such a good one-shot! I love it. And the plot twists and everything. It was merged and weaved together smoothly and in a way that didn't make it choppy at all. But though, it is sad that they had to die in the end but it is a brilliant way to end the one-shot! :)
StillWatersAreDeep chapter 1 . 8/2/2012
I very nice story. Still, I wonder if Harry may had planned to propose to Tom if he had told the truth about Myrtle? It seems like this to my anyway.
And it is kind of funny but the way you wrote it, it seems like Harry, Hermione and Ron having adopted Tom and then died led to him becoming Voldemort this time.
DeanBeans13 chapter 1 . 7/29/2012
thats sad. well written but sad. it makes sense though because if they changed the future then it would have created a paradox. Sad they had to die though and leave Tom to fall into the dark arts.
