ArwenFairTinuviel chapter 1 . 11/25/2015 This is so lovely, and such an original idea, I haven't come across anything like it. It's so nice to see everyone's different reactions to seeing the house and the sign. Sirius's piece was so moving, I could really feel how sick with guilt and hopelessness he felt upon remembering the joyous people that were once in that place, and I loved how close he wrote his name to James's. Peter's piece was really realistic, I could imagine him not registering how wrong it is for him to sign his name, considering he was the reason the Potters were dead, and I wanted to scream at him when he erased his 'sorry'! I really enjoyed seeing Neville with his grandmother, her solidarity with the Potters and her grief for Neville's parents after they had thought they were finally safe. I thought you wrote Kenneth's piece brilliantly - it was so cute to see him realise he was different, and to be fascinated by the Potters' house and memorial. I was so pleased when McGonagall came to tell him he was a wizard! My favourite scenes had to be Remus's and Severus's though - I could really imagine Severus tracing Lily's golden name every time he went there, and Remus being happy when he died that he would get to see his friends again, which was better than seeing any memorial. Altogether it is such a unique and beautiful story, made up of such heartwarming and heartbreaking little pieces, I really love it! |
em38 chapter 1 . 10/16/2015 Heartbreaking but beautiful. Sirius' part had me in tears. |
Xenopsyche chapter 1 . 9/10/2015 Fantastic story. The range of emotions, from sorrow to childish naivety and wonder, was perfect. Remus and Snape's segment was one of my favourites, but Dumbledore's reflection was the perfect way to finish it off. The Kenneth Leighton one was genius as well. |
LoricVampire Hybrid chapter 1 . 7/12/2015 This was beautiful! (and really, really sad) |
HelpmeHermione chapter 1 . 11/17/2014 This was really sweet. How clever of you to point out that the kids with magic in them may see that house and statue, even though they are not of age. And others might not believe them. |
orangeowlgirl chapter 1 . 4/13/2014 So sad...:( |
writersz cramp chapter 1 . 10/20/2013 The signpost at Godric's Hollow serves as a crossroad between life, death, friendship, past, present, and future. It is such a great exploration of fringe characters! I loved it. (wasn't Kenneth Leighton one of the boys from Hogwarts? Not bothering to look it up.) I have a question... wouldn't any spell that Dumbledore cast lose their potency once he died? |
deleted2017 chapter 1 . 8/29/2013 :') That was a very beautiful story. I love the way that you conveyed the emotion into your writing this, and how you included a bit of everybody. Thanks for sharing! |
