My god I found it. I read this once years ago, binged it in one siting (along with numerous other TF2 fics) and, alas, forgot to bookmark it. Today, I found it.

It is just as good, if not better, than I remembered. Thank you, for crafting up a story that perfectly balanced serious and quirky characterization, the nuanced tightrope of comedy and dense plot, and the most perfect, ultimately satisfying conclusion anyone could ask for.

I’m but a humble purveyor of fanfic, but this was a masterpiece with every same note and tone as you would expect from the comics. Doubtful you’re even much active here, considering most have moved on, but just in case, thank you, and keep on rocking it out of the park.

I got that Iron giant reference there- that movie legit made me cry, so seeing that reference brought back.. A wave of emotions.. In a good way, though!

This is amazing, your really skilled at writing. Your humour reminds me so much of the comedy style in Team fortress 2!

Brother parallels! A reunion! Everything is happy and nothing hurts. This epilogue is the proverbial medigun for my heart. I'm in love with every last one of yours OCs, from Danny to Jane to the poor Chevy man, and everybody else who's in your other tales of wonder and angst (IRENE IRENE IRENE).

This is beautiful. Another day, I'll get crazy on Part 2 and Part 3. Consider this an erected dispenser. It only dispenses my love and affection. Forever. No take-backs, you're stuck with this thing. I don't care that it's not pretty, it's going to keep pumping out gushy feelings.

BLESS THIS RESOLUTION! BLESS THIS FORESHADOWING(?)! I don't even know how to say words I wanna pour out all my feelings but the right phrasing just doesn't seem to come. Just imagine a long, continuous scream with a lot of gesturing and hand waving because that is the feeling inside my heart. I'm not good at analysis- it was always the worst of my essays- but I WISH I was because I really want to take all the little things (Curiosity killed the cat, Dell, watch out! Sniper and Demo being buddies and troublemakers, more on Sniper like who is this wild man who we get little reveals about him and his life (got a sister, doesn't like music, maybe secretly into Jane Austen?) and YET it's all still in character. I forget that Sniper doesn't canonically have a sister!) I wanna take all these little things and write a 6 page essay about how good this is. I'm just gonna stick to what I can do and crank out that fanart. I promised you a couple chapters back! Don't let me off the hook!

Dude, you're killing it. Crushing it. 'It' refers to what's left of my heart. It's real obvious you put a ton of love and care into crafting this, like Everything flows so smoothly it's insane. We get Spy's backstory and the visceral and stabbing reactions of both Spies (v nice tie in story, by the way, i have read that one real good very nice) that are written with such emotion! How do you do that? How do words? I'm in awe. I'm still in awe, the dozenth time reading this little beauty. I recommend it to all my friends. I have. I have made all my friends read this.

You always deliver! Whether it's heart-stopping action or heart-stopping angst. My heart can't take all of this stopping... please...

Woohoo! *reads author's note* I'm... I'm called out. I'm *takes shot* here for Engie, dagnabbit. But, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate every ounce of precious backstory and worldbuilding that goes into this. I'm on the edge of my seat concerned for these poor boys. These poor boys and their murders. Waitaminute...*does headcount* WAITAMINUTE! that is either the oddest dang coincidence or some kind of long-haul planning. some kind of... mega foreshadowing. I'm shook. Kudos, man.

PROTECT THE YOUNG SDXFGHJKL it's one of those lines pal, one of them little turns of phrase that gets you right in the mind's eye, Like, you can just see Spy doing up his cuffs and putting on his jacket, straightening his tie all this seemingly superficial stuff when really he's playing a mental game and getting ready to go heck some folks up!

I love how some of the violence is like, horrifying without being explicitly worded. Like, you really capture Sniper's horror without going into wounds and the physicality of it all. Kudos.
