Nice little Tokka fanfic. I always wondered exactly how Sokka felt about Toph borrowing Hawky without asking, and the fact that he probably never saw his bird again. This fanfic shows the similarities between Tokka and Kataang. Despite the differences in personalities, they love each other the same way. I think the puppy love angle is what endears both ships to me.

With the revelation of Lin and Tenzin having dated in when they were younger in LoK, Tokka kind of creeps me out now... so I'm viewing this as "Toph had a young crush but then they grew up and she got over it."
But I really, really loved your characterizations in this. Very believable. The whole thing is very nicely done.

I've been following your tumblr and I really like the art you've posted and also your headcannons/defense of Tokka/handling annoying tumblr users :). So I thought I'd give your fanfiction a try too when you posted it. I really, really enjoyed this. It was very in character for all involved and it had a lot of small touches (from the show/about her blindness) that really made the fic come alive. I'll be sure to watch for any other Tokka you post, I'm a die-hard shipper going through a particularly obsessive phase :).

Also, if it's not too much trouble, do you have any reccomended Tokka fics? Like I said, I've been going through a Tokka phase, and though I've shipped it since I was around 12, I'm just now getting into the fanfiction scene. I've had a hard time going through and finding good, in character pieces. If you could PM me? Or maybe just make a tumblr post for all your followers, that would probably be easier. I just trust your opinion after seeing your blog :).

Sigh, young love...I wonder indeed why Toph fell for Sokka, given that she thought him the weak link of the time intially...perhaps that's what did it, given that he was "crippled" by his nonbending, yet used it to his advantage like she did with blindness. Still, impressive concept and I liked the dialogue between Aang and Toph and their bond over their crushes. Though, at the end, you may want to have a bit more description. Descriptions of what characters are doing can be a great help towards the readers empathizing with them-it was fine with Toph and Aang, but right at the end, given that it was the climax and Toph was feeling conflicted, perhaps a little more "Step by step" of her emotions and reactions to him would help. Though it's only a minor thing; otherwise, it was great! Keep up the good work and I look forward to more Tokka from you! (I fear we may need it, given Korra-I won't spoil just in case, but I'm sure you might know what I mean) Write more soon or I'll...SUE YA!

aww! so cute! they never did explain sokkas reaction to losing hawky. and i dont think he ever came back :( oh well. glad they made up i suppose. i've never been a big Tokka shipper, but recently, i've just been bombarded with reasons why they should be together, and it make sense (accept for the fact that it would make Lin and Tenzin cousins). in fact, my favorite toph/sokka moment was when they were on the airship and sokka jumped over toph to protect her from falling debris. and a few seconds earlier when toph was dangling from the top of the airship and sokka was her only link to the world. so sad and scary and sweet. wow. alot of ss's. haha, but sweet story!
