A great way to end this part of Kyle and Sophie's story. They have escaped, and are now headed to a new home to start their new lives together. I'm reading the next installment as soon as I can!

Man, this was an action packed chapter. Can't wait to see how Kyle and Sophie get outta this!

I believe I read this back in the day, but it was a treat to give it another go. It's a lovely story. That's really the best word for it - lovely. There's nothing cynical or mean about it. That says a lot about who you are as a person, I think. As others have said, you're a good man; that's evident simply by reading this. Kyle's an average joe, but that's not bad. It makes him a relatable character in this world of mad science and crazy technology, and that makes sense because he's an outsider. All that being said, I feel the romance was rushed. There's really no hardships between them. They meet, they bond, they fall in love. That's fine, but I wish there was more trouble between them about how to reconcile their differences - they seem to surmount all such obstacles immediately. The dialogue where Sophie reveals she would have killed him if not surgically removed was the closest it came, and I wish there was more like it. Also, the twist about Catherine being an android was just perfect; besides the main relationship, that might have been my favorite part of the story - it's perfectly foreshadowed but not at all obvious.

Really, the whole ending is great. How the animals escaped was funny and scary at the same time. I will say the decision to blow up the station is dubious. Though with the Necromorphs aboard, perhaps it was for the best. Kyle riding Sophie was very clever and cute, though. The ending with Reinhardt getting spaced was badass! That's just a trope with monsters in Alien, ain't it?

The portrayal of the Bond is incredible. I'll certainly be using that in my Dead Space story. Two lovers sharing a mind... I think it's lovely. I've never really seen the Alien movies, but I'm assuming they're non-canon to this story. I can't believe the Xenomorphs are anything but big cuddle bugs in this universe. Sophie would probably be aghast at the films! Your love for animals shines through, and there's a lot of really interesting ones. I assume you created them all, because they don't really seem like creatures that would be in the Alien franchise proper. Speaking of the Aliens, I was confused about why the scientists believed Sophie to be a mere animal (although that seems to be a problem throughout the franchise in general). I mean, if you're dealing with something with a brain TWICE the size of a human's, you should probably realize it's sentient even if it can't talk.

Something I would have liked to see is Kyle's reaction to finding out Sophie killed Richard. It's never brought up, and I don't think he would have approved of such a thing. THAT would've been an interesting wrench in their relationship; is it OK to kill someone who's hurt you? The difference between Human and Xenomorph psychology would be interesting. Finally, the sentence structure could be more diverse. There were a whole lot of "X did this" sentences, which aren't bad, but a couple more that began with a clause might have broken up the monotony.

Still, these are minor quibbles. I enjoyed the story overall. I'll certainly get around to reading and reviewing your other AvP works at some point. Thanks for everything you've done and generally just being you!

Pretty solid story, you knew what you wanted to write and kept it concise without unneeded fluff.

As for what could have been better. I wish that Kyle and Sophie had more actual character development. Especially in terms of likes and interests. They spent so much time expressing their love to eachother that I got very little idea as to who they are. Just saying "I love you" 20 times did not further their relationship in my eyes. Having topics they talk about and mutually enjoy would have shown their bond off way better in my eyes. Swimming was alright, but theres only so much you can really do with it. Having them enjoy specific book genres, or even movie/tv shows is a pretty easy thing to fit in there and could add some funny quirks as well. As a silly example having sophie dislike horror movies.

My other issue was just characters doing something/having an aspect to them with little real purpose. Richard existed seemingly just to take Kyle's pain meds and then die. Which is fine, but neither of those two things actually did much of anything. Lack of pain meds hardly effected Kyle and even worse yet sophie killing Kyle had no meaning. It did not establish that sophie was willing to kill people for Kyle as that was already obvious and it did not effect their relationship at all. It could have been a way to further their relationship through conflict. Either having sophie hide it from Kyle, or just having Kyle know and accept it because he cares so much. Instead it's like it never happened.

Next is Kyle's intelligence. I know hes smart because its said hes smart. He does some smart things, but it's the the solution that it shown not his thought process which makes it harder to follow and understand that he is in fact smart
