Love this story! The despair and agony of Dean's mindset while being confused and isolated was riveting.

Love this story. I especially liked how you had Sam save Dean, and then help him while trying hard to let Dean keep his dignity. It was precious.

I like that this way they have very little experience dealing with demons, not like later at all. Wondering why the demon had left earlier, which allowed Dean to try to escape.

Totally terrifying about the doctor. I always wonder if they'll be like that in real life, and now I'm going to have this running thru my mind every time I visit. *shiver*

Aw, poor Dean. That would be just terrible for anyone, let alone him! I love the way you describe his fear of being alone and helpless. The docs really should have taken his concussion into some sort of account for some of his behavior, though! Just because he's babbling about 'nonsense' doesn't mean he's crazy! Maybe he was reading/watching/writing something with monsters in it beforehand... He was the hero of the story, trying to fight them off! Lol! *ahem* Anyway, but yes, I'm glad that Sam was able to figure out all the clues and where Dean had gone. Their bond's just so awesome in the first two seasons. I miss it more than anything about the series these days. Like how Bobby tried to cover the bases, saying that Dean just might not have come home for the night cuz of some girl, like that's unusual. However, Sam knew that Dean wouldn't've just done that to him without checking in or letting him know what was up. Perfect show of their behavior, even still, although it's lessened. ;-;
I like how Sam changed the spilled water into holy water and then acted like it was no big deal, lol. Just so happened to have a rosary on him... xD Glad he did come somewhat prepared. It's crazy to think how little they really did tango with demons back then and how expert they are on them (and angels!) now. But they're definitely not idiots, lol. Good thing that the demon didn't really pay too much attention to Sam while he was taunting poor Dean. Sam's fears in the beginning of where Dean might have gone, or if he was still alive, was perfect. Like the line about Dean going underground, into hiding when hurt, making it possibly harder for Sam to find him if that were the case. Even though it was terrible (and stupid of someone, lol) it's a good thing that Dean got tossed into the hospital. Woulda been a lot harder for Sam to find him otherwise, even if it did take a minute for him to track him down!
'Bout time that Dean got called the Elephant Man! xDD Love Sam's "Just, don't let any kids see you." lmao.
I could definitely see Dean being the one to notice it wasn't the 'real' Gibbs just from him using his right hand. He did have a point, however, when he said if it was a shifter he would have been using the left, which had crossed my mind too when Dean gave the reasoning to the demon during their first meeting... Oh well, Dean. Shit happens, your bro saved you, and the demon's gone. All is well in the world. Oh! That reminds me. I absolutely adore your summary for this. Just so matter-of-fact, lol.
The end...! Oh geez. Way to go Sammy. Love how he knows exactly what Dean needs. I knew he was going to have troubles with the Impala, especially the way you had Dean look at her before psyching himself to get inside so they could leave. And the way you had Sam call everyone that he could think of ("he hadn't talked to Sarah in a while, right?") was just an amazing solution. Loved that Dean bundled up in Sam's hoodie. Great touch.

You so perfectly describe the dynamic between the brothers when Dean-the-Protector is the one who needs saving. You sure ramped up the tension in this one - the hurt and helplessness Dean must've felt in that asylum... Loved how Sam knew exactly what Dean needed at each step as they made their getaway.

Aw, another great story! I particularly liked the disjointed sentences mirroring Dean's state of mind after the head injury. And it was so satisfying when Sam found him again!

They really should know by now nothing good ever comes of them separating. :)
