JokerCarnage5 chapter 6 . 11/19/2014 Skywarp is very funny in this. |
Jen Rock chapter 8 . 10/27/2013 This is very chilling. Poor Dead End to have to go through so much to save his team and none of them will ever know about it. Fascinating story. |
Justaway Ninja chapter 8 . 4/9/2013 Oh wow... Congratulations on writing such a brilliant, enjoyable fanfic. I wasn't a big Stunticon fan before this, I must admit, because I'm not good with gestalts in general, but people have been recommending Crash Course to me, so I read it. And wow... Just pure 'wow'. All five of them were a bit unfamiliar to me at first, but you established their characters so well so that by the end of it I feel as though I understand them all perfectly. Motormaster and Dead End are my absolute top favourite Stunticons, although I can't say the other three rank much lower, they're all adorable in their own ways (well, 'adorable's not the right word, but... You know what I mean.) I'm thrilled that you've written some more Stunticon fics, and I'll get round to all of them eventually. ;) This fic is definitely one of the best I've ever read! The twists and turns had me breathless, and as the Stunticons began to disappear one by one I felt exactly like Dead End, panicking and despairing as he continues to struggle on. By the time he was left on his own I was just... shaken and absolutely terrified for him. Watching himself fall to his death, killing Wildrider... Oh wow... This fic absolutely boosted Dead End as my top favourite Stunticon of all time! If it were me... I would have given up after Wildrider died... ): And watching those five again, it's an odd mix of relief and sadness for the Dead End that had just saved the Autobots, the Decepticons, the Earth... and no one will ever know... Except Wheeljack and Trailbreaker... And Dead End himself will probably never know either... The chaos of time travel. It was absolutely beautiful. And now I'll have two minutes of silence to mourn for Skywarp... ): Least he's still alive right now, but still... I was almost hoping he'd become a main character too or something, with Thundercracker and Starscream trying to bring him to back to life... D: Uh, anyway! I really enjoyed this. :D Thank you thank you thank you SOOOO much for being such an awesome writer and earning so many fans for the Stunticons! :P Now I just need to go to Google Images and find out what they all look like... |
Taipan Kiryu chapter 8 . 10/1/2012 This was an amazing character study of Dead End. We can read in his bio that he’s fatalist and that he cares about his looks, and think we have a very clear image of him. But you go far beyond than his bio, not to mention his brief appearances in the cartoon; you placed him in a situation that would take his character to the limit. If pessimist would be, indeed, his middle name, had he aimed for salvation, especially after the chances of having lost his team were almost certain? There is no such thing as perfect extremes. Having such a fixation with death meant that Dead End was also a student of life. Of course he would have fought. And what better rival to fight than the endless possibilities that timelines provide? Dead End’s experience was quite a journey – your descriptions were beyond amazing! Curiously, he was the proper Stunticon to take such journey, and survive it. What could a sadistic, an insane, a narcissist or a paranoid have done in his place? The Stunticons are a Gestalt team, and whether they like it or not, they are conditioned to be together in order to perform under certain situations. This situation in particular required somebody that could deal with loneliness, the close cousin of death. This may be how the world ends, but also how it starts. Dead End should have a serious talk with Stephen Hawking. Real heroes keep their feats to themselves. Dead End took the concept to the extreme not only by ‘dying’, but with the fact that not even himself will know about all the things he saved, his team being the most important. It’s kind of sad that, even though Motormaster got to know, he wouldn’t congratulate Dead End or give him any special treatment. Saving the team is the duty of every component of the Gestalt. As always, all I can do is thank you for providing so much beauty in a time in which fanfic jewels are so scarce. And, as always, I’m eager for more. Thanks for the reading list, too. I confess that science fiction is a genre I always neglected in literature, but it’s never too late to give it a try :o) |
MonocleWearingChicken chapter 8 . 9/30/2012 A very bitter sweet ending. Poor Dead End :( Still, another fantastic little stunti-centric fic from you QoS. Always love how well you write everyones favourite crazy cons. |
Power-To-The-Peaceful chapter 8 . 9/21/2012 This was amazing. Keep up the great work. I felt really bad for Dead End. Going through all of that, and to meet such an end left me feeling heavy. Kudos! |
Starfire201 chapter 8 . 9/20/2012 Well, this wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it seems like in the end, you really brought it full circle. I found it kind of creepy for the first couple parts, I'll admit. But I did like how Dead End managed to fix things, and yet no one will ever know. |
starwanker chapter 8 . 9/19/2012 I kept thinking of "A Sound of Thunder" while reading this chapter, particularly once I saw 'WARNYNG'. Good reference! And such a good story; you did a great job with the ending here; I had no idea how Dead End was going to fix it all! The solution vaguely reminded me of that one Futurama episode where they go so far forward in time, they loop back. And the whole divergent time line thing always makes me think of Donnie Darko. |
anondecepticon chapter 7 . 9/2/2012 I FINALLY found the time to sit down and give this chapter a proper reading, and OMG. I thought I knew what you had planned for this story, but it turns out I HAD NO IDEA. This is like, the best thing EVER. I must go and dance the dance of happiness now. But first, I need to squee and flail over this chapter. Wheeljack's betrayal (what DID happen to the other one?) and Dead End's moment-too-late realization that it was coming were brilliantly done. Those other Stunticons might not have been *his* team, but to Dead End that must have been like watching them die all over again..only this time he helped pull the trigger. And Wildrider! I can't comment on this chapter without mentioning his part in it. His initial reaction to the loss of his gestalt was WRENCHING. And then when he (sort of) pulled himself together, you managed to make him at once both hilarious and TERRIFYING. I think it's a testament to how much Dead End wants his team back, that even with Wildrider so far around the bend he's threatening to kill him, Dead End still can't bring himself to let him go. I confess I'm pretty lost now with all the criss-crossing timelines - if the Stunticons with the time machine are prevented from going back to the past (where they capture future!Wheeljack, who later escapes with the time machine, goes back to a point slightly before then, and kills them) -how does Wheeljack get the time machine back in order to do it? Wouldn't killing them like that kill him as well, since his past self was in Motormaster's trailer at the time? Also, does this mean the Stunticons can't exist anywhere now, because they "died" before they were "born"? OW, I THINK I HURT MY BRAIN. I don't know how Dead End is going to sort out this mess when he can't enter dates into the time machine anymore. If he activates it now, won't it just send him back to a few seconds ago, when he first arrived in this timeline? Maybe he use that to his advantage somehow..? Or will he try to repair the machine? What if he can only get it to go forward, but not back, or back, but not forward? I can't WAIT to see what you've got planned! |
Taipan Kiryu chapter 7 . 8/17/2012 After two very hectic weeks, it was such a happy moment taking a cup of my favorite hot beverage and finally have quality time to read your just as delicious update. Things not going according to plan is one of the absolute rules in fiction, and when such chain of events go beyond and actually transform into worst nightmares, and when the victim is Wildrider… Is there anything worse than the pain of a lunatic? Yes, the pain of a lunatic that happens to be a Ferrari and whose world was his team. It’s easy to say that Wildrider is insane. His bio states it and his funny lines confirm it, but when his insanity is exposed raw as you did in this chapter, there’s very little left to laugh about him. Crazy is not funny, and ever less with it gets driven to an extreme. Wildrider has nothing left to lose, and if his gestalt bond says that Dead End is dead, then there’s nothing left to argue. Yeah, Wildrider is insane… which means that he can be very, very dangerous. F-rag… When I thought I had read the saddest part, it got worst… But it was no surprise; fatality was foretold, and jump after jump after jump, the hope to return to the ‘real’ present unscathed is scarce, if return is even an option. Now all that’s left is hold on to that hope – and to the good heart of a lovely author who happens to love the Stunticons :oP Oh, so that’s why the Stunticons weren’t in that battle… I totally buy it! |
Kookaburra chapter 7 . 8/5/2012 Arrrgh, hasn't been telling me when there are updates! So I just got to mainline the last few awesome chapters of this fic. :) |
anondecepticon chapter 6 . 8/4/2012 I finally had a chance to sit down and read this chapter properly, and what a wrenching chapter it was! Dead End's grief over the loss of his team is practically palpable. Breakdown's death was so sudden and shocking - no last words, no goodbyes, no parting glances, just...gone. And even though Skywarp and his trine were directly responsible, you still managed to make *his* death (and Thundercracker and Starscream's reactions to it) equally poignant and gripping. And then there's Wheeljack, so quietly heroic. Thanks to the Stunticons, he's lost his leader, his lover, and everyone else he ever knew, yet he took a major hit and probably saved both their lives (although in Breakdown's case it was only temporary). Most mechs would save themselves and leave Dead End to his fate, but not Wheeljack - that's not how he operates. Favorite part: It's a toss-up between the moment when Dead End realizes he's alone and the moment when he detects all five of them alive and well again. Heartbreaking. |
Narwhal Bacon chapter 7 . 8/4/2012 I was soo happy when I saw that you uploaded a new chapter. This is top notch writing ad story telling, the plot unfolds into a morbid yet thrilling adventure. I really think this story needs more attention then it is getting. But y'know, this site seems like it's full of 14 year olds self inserting their characters in Prime stories. I was sneaking off to the washroom frequenty to read this at work yesterday too haha! Then when I was counting the cash I finished it up, and I'm soo in love with this story and your masterful skills at writing. You should write commissioned fanfiction, I know I would buy stories from you. The bit with Wildrider...I had chills. I think his mob finally broke after the gestalt bond did. Dead End knew it too, an it was either kill him or be killed. An unfortunate end for him too, but I guess I can say...he went out with a bang! I hope you continue this story! I'm sorry for leaving a anon review, I can't rly log on right now. Cheers |
randomtext chapter 7 . 8/3/2012 Firstly, I want to apologize for not reviewing earlier. This is a wonderful story and deserves lots of reviews. Secondly: *cue undignified shriek* YOU UPDATED! YES! Okay, now that those are out of my system, can I just say that this is one of the best stories I've ever read? The plot is amazing. So completely, utterly and totally amazing. You are a genius. Regular time travel stories are predictable, but I love the little twist with Wheeljack ended up dead (though I like his character dearly) and how you turned away from the obvious ending. And you can really feel the drainage of Dead End slowly losing everything. His team is dead and the time machine is busted. Here, Dead End has really hit a dead end, huh? (Sorry, bad pun. I just couldn't help myself.) I wish I could write more about just how awesome this story is, but I'm afraid I can't think well enough to write anything more than: EEEEEE! Wonderful, wonderful job. I look forward to the next update! Denvana P.S. Sounds like a reasonable enough explanation. ;) |
Starfire201 chapter 7 . 8/3/2012 That...is an interesting explanation why, no doubt about it. In some ways, that makes a creepy amount of sense, too. However, what Wheeljack did doesn't surprise me and it was likely those were very much among his thoughts when he did what he did. When all is said and done, I do feel bad for Dead End. Chapter Title - Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Apt choice, very. |
