I was pretty sure it was Carter before Keilwasser's observations of the unconscious general because well...only Carter could manage to get hit by a car in the middle of the woods. lol

Anyway, great story!

I just love the line, "You have the upper body strength of an inebriated toad!"

And making one of the Heroes the general he ran into...great idea.

I'm glad this story's last in my "to be reviewed" contest stories! I laughed non-stop from start to finish. Not only poor hapless Keilwasser's narration is hilarious, but what happens to him (and General Von Seidelberg is a terrible thing to happen to someone :D) takes the cake! I'm glad he was all right, though. *And* made off with the top-secret papers to boot. Boy, that last image (the car driving off throwing a "coat of mud" on Keilwasser - he really has the most rotten sort of luck, doesn't he?) was really something.

I read this story twice just so I could laugh a second time. That's how much I loved it :o]

As soon as I realized where you were going with this, I definitely had a "Why didn't I think of that?" moment. But this was a fantastic piece, I was killing myself laughing by the end, especially every time Carter said "I think not!". I kept hearing Hogan's voice though, I think he said that in the episode "The Scientist" which is one of my favourites and I couldn't help hearing his voice, but that just made it even funnier. I do have to feel bad for the guy though, he sure had a rough night!

Clever - very clever, and very neatly developed to keep the surprise under wraps. The unusual choice of first-person perspective was a nice touch. Very well done.
