Aah! D: What an epic reveal! I love the last line, as tragic as it is; it's very true. Merlin keeps all of his promises. Poor Merlin. And poor Arthur, too! I hope Gaius explains Merlin's life to him, now that he can't hear it from Merlin himself. Great job, and thanks for sharing! :)

By denoting this a tragedy, one would assume that Merlin dies. But, since you do not say he dies, I will choose to believe that he does not. Great, gripping story! Well done.

About time Merlin unleashed his full ability upon Morgana.

I especially liked the ending - I have interpreted Arthur's thoughts of them being all 'normal' and teasing each othdr again in a few days time, as Arthur forgiving Merlin. In that case, if Merlin has to keep his promise to Arthur, he DOES survive.

love this but you need to continue before your poor readers are driven mad! Dragon to the rescue? It works as a death fic beautifully but wouldn't writing survival be more fun? :-D
