It is perfectly understandable now why Duncan was a father to Alistair. He was only one who truly deeply cared for him. It is so touching.

And it is official, Isolde is such a b***h. Whether out of guilt she repairs Alistair's amulet or not. Even if she was envious she could have been at least a bit kind-hearted in sending him away, she was awfully vindictive.

This is just fabulous, Alistair and Lyra meeting as kids, first sparks of friendship, Maric's regret, Alistair's resentment, all other characters in their younger age, Howe treacherous as always and love between Nathaniel and Alfstanna was a complete surprise to me and yet again proves how excellent writer, you are :-)
In Awakening, I always liked Nathaniel and to see since the beginning he was a good person is comforting.

And to think Eleanor Cousland has thought exactly Lyra becoming Queen along with Alistair and dismissed that possibility next very moment as unlikely, only if she knew how right she was...

This! This was wonderful! I am glad you explored many different povs and I especially loved the budding friendship between Lyra and Alistair. :) too cute. Nate and Alfstanna was different but adorable. And poor Morrigan! I enjoyed every moment reading this and I can't wait to start the next part :)

You know my first thought? Thank the Maker Alistair found Lyra! I grieve so for the lost little boy, it is completely heart-breaking what he went through. I guess we’d all like to adopt him and give him the love he deserved!

Isolde, Isolde, Isolde. Sigh. I don’t think I can forgive her the cruelty, not entirely. There was some redemption as she gazed at the picture and then repaired the locked - a bit of remorse. But her heart was selfish and fearful, and she lost the potential for one of the sweetest loves she could have ever known. So in the end, she was the loser. Alistair finds so much love in TDKS - Lyra and many friends. That’s what warms my heart so much.

I so enjoyed this peek into the past! Beautifully done, Eve darling! Now... guess what? Yup - On to Seeds of the Future! Woohoo! *Dances*

Flemeth is so cruel! My heart just bled for Morrigan in this chapter. So richly written, the details all coming to life in my mind. That suffocating mud and dirt collapsing in on her. Poor, poor thing! She never really had a choice to grow up to be any other way, did she? I remembered the story of the mirror the way Morrigan told it, but this was so much better.

Left us hanging with Anora And Cailan, didn’t you? Lol! It’s so odd to read this backstory, and know what is coming with no way to prevent it. My mind plays with the hundreds of ways things could have turned out differently, but then our favorite characters wouldn’t be who they ended up as, would they?

These chapters of the festival and the tourney are just too much fun. I feel like I’m attending - overhearing the nobles and their gossip.

Bryce is just the best guy - such a sweetheart! I know Eleanor is a fine woman, but Bryce steals your heart.

For some reason little Lyra seeing Alistair across the way and wanting to go to him - it got to me! It was so sweet and cute :D

Also, it’s so easy to hate Rendon Howe. He’s as bad as Loghain. I read once where the Dali Llama said that out of six billion people, only a few are bad apples that cause all the trouble. In Ferelden, I think it’s these two, lol.

Well, this chapter was fun! A little bit of everything :) For some reason lately Nathaniel has been on my mind as a character, though I can’t imagine writing for him. I loved his interlude in the hayloft though, lol!

How cold and calculating of Loghain to tell his own daughter to bed Cailan! Ick and Yuck! Even knowing there’s nothing we can do to change how that part of the story plays out, it will always disappoint me :(

Nice little ending with Maric and Cailan, though :)

Wow, what great insight into Isolde’s character! The sketch of her long love with Eamon really was very touching. You can see, however, how it did damage her character. Stupid politics keeping lovers apart, lol.

Little Alistair and Lyra at the wedding was a nice touch. It just reminds me how terrible it is for Ali, having his fate tossed around by the whims of adults whose interests are not always his well-being. Still frustrated he didn’t end up with the Couslands! haha!

What I want to know is what is Anora’s deal here? Lol! She’s obviously unhappy with his attentions, yet when he kissed her, she returned his passion. What’s going on in that pretty head of hers?

I’m pretty wiped out tonight, so forgive the silly way I’m reviewing, lol.

Maric is such a good guy, and I really like him. It’s so sad that he had these feelings for his son, and yet because of political reality cannot claim him. Loghain is cold and calculating, yes - but here he is not really coming off as “evil” as he turned out to be later. The corrupting influence of power must have increased over the years.

Bryce and Eleanor together make me smile. One of “those” couples who are a true match :)

If only Alistair had been fostered in Highever. So much speculation there! I know they would have fallen in love, only sooner ;)

Hahaha! That was great, when Eleanor and Bryce were speculating over Lyra’s future. I really was very unlikely, what eventually happened between Lyra and Alistair. I’d never really though of it that way :)

As I’m reading the fun scenes between Lyra and Alistair, for some reason I keep thinking back to when they first met at Ostagar, and Ali remembered her, but Lyra kept silent. It was so sad, the way his feelings were hurt then. Now there’s so much more emotion behind that, knowing how they truly bonded in their short time together.

In the author notes, you mentioned that there would be no story arc, but instead just a series of glimpses. I adore vignettes of this kind, and am having lots of fun reading! Yay!

Or better yet, I will let him get possessed so he can kill her in a few years! Ugh she is such a wench, I hate her as much as Alistair felt hate in that very moment! Hmm...I'm thinking one-shot...brutal horrible death by corpses...
