Love, love, loved it! The way you wrote this little scene made it easy for me to see it all playing out in my mind with a younger Charles and Elsie. I adored that she was the one that caught him in the older jacked and then offered to help him with another one. And of course, the ending was perfect, with him considering taking her to the dinner and her evening dress she might "wear for him" awwwww.

Like everything you write, this was perfection. Ugh, I think you really managed to keep that outward restraint and the way they teeter along the rules at times (but never truly overstep them), which often isn't captured. And, ahh, this fic is really about all the things they didn't say. (What are you doing dedicating this to me too? You're so silly. Wonderful and perfect, but silly.)

This was so cute! Can we hope for an accompanying piece where Elsie does put on her evening dress?

This is absolutely perfect! Of course you can still write fluffy! First of all, the beginning is really funny. I can imagine Charles all flustered while eyeing that jacket and then ripping it. No wonders Elsie was so amused. But above all, I love the interaction between these two and their complicity. It's very clear they care about each other, that they always look out for the other, even if it's just through little gestures and kindness. And I really like that little bit of teasing and tension there. The only thing I don't like is "the end" at the end. Because I so want a sequel with the night of the ball!

It’s impossible not to love your writing! But you should think about this being a one shot fic, would be wonderful see Charles asking Elsie out for the event and see her wearing a nice evening dress!

I love young Miss Hughes and young Mr. Carson! They are so cute together and you are as brilliant with fluff as you are with angst. I told you: I would read every book you ever write!

How Elsie hardly managed to supress a smile when she saw Charles ripped suit. And the nice flirt they had while interaction for like 10 mins only. More fluff please :)

Of course you can write light, sweet fluff! I really admire that you can write both this and heart-wrenching angst equally well.

I liked the gentleness of this fic and the way they seem to be getting along from the very beginning.

And her 'help' in removing his jacket was very sensual and just lovely. Just the right hint of UST.
