Pyromania101 chapter 1 . 11/1/2013
You are a magnificent writer! It's a one-shot, and yet so many parts bring tears to my eyes, the scene where Austria takes Marie-Therese to her mother's home. This makes the historical fact that she never had any children of her own quite sad, as it means that Marie Antoinette has no living descendants.

What an exquisite homage to her life. 220 years today.

*blinks*

This... this just floored me. You could feel all of Austria's emotions, and for me personally it was even worse because I knew even in the beginning what was going to happen to little Maria Antonia even as Austria was warming up to her. The emotions..the feelings... everything! This gave me the family feels, and I'm just... wow. Even the few points that made me crack up in laughter added to the overall piece, just because it flows well.

The first part that killed me was when the nations were at Marie Antoinette's execution, and they saw her for the queen she was, and France was reminded of Jeanne d'Arc... And then the depression that Austria fell into... :(

And the ending... this line: '"Come Marie-Thérèse. It's time to take you home," he whispered to her, and his words held a soothing comfort that Marie-Thérèse had not experienced for many years. For the first time in so long, she felt safe.' I just wanted to hug them both at that point.

Okay, now for the parts that made me laugh:

- when Hungary 'accused' Austria of killing Leopold II. I know that's not something to laugh over, but his reaction and her reason for it.

- Prussia's words about Austria and Hungary's response. Again, not appropriate circumstances, but I could hear Prussia saying that on purpose just to provoke Austria into fighting again.

America: What the... it's called 'sensitivity'. Ever hear of it? *facepalm*

Everything looks good, and it's very informative for the historical events surrounding the French Revolution. It's nice to get the Austrian perspective too, I've seen many French perspectives of it. I also liked the nod toward outside historical events (War of Austrian Succession, American Revolution, etc.) I didn't know that Liechtenstein was a part of the empire, but I guess we all learn something new :). Your research efforts definitely show, and for that I applaud you.

Excellent work!

...I think I'm in love with this...

XD Holy, I've been wanting to write something like this for a LONG time, but I've been too lazy. The history is spot-on, and I love the way you portray the characters! Even France! I wish there was a little more England, but oh well.

Your Austria was great! Seriously! :) I would've put in a little more Sweden too, just with the lover though. I liked how you made Liechtenstein, and how she wasn't ALWAYS dependent on Switzerland.

Aside from grammar mistakes, this is love to an eighteenth century history nerd like me! :D Great work!

HAVE I TOLD YOU BEFORE THAT I LOVE YOU? ! CUZ I TOTALLY DO, OMG! ! ! ! ! OAJSHDGFKJSH *squeals* 8DDDD Must breathe somehow cuz that was TOTALLY AMAZING! ! ! ! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY WROTE IT OUT AND IT'S SOOOOO GOOD :D I love that you put in the French words [I actually could understand some of them too!] and omg, sooo much history in here - of course there'd be sooo much *O* And I love how you made France change throughout the course of before / after the Revolution. And oh gosh, I lost it when Austria and Joseph had to give "the talk" And Austria, the way he reacted toward the death of the different bosses [I had a good laugh at Hungary accusing him of killing Leopold] and his "children" and I looooove how you called them his children, it just made the relationship soooo much sweeter! AND HA! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM TRY TO STRANGLE AMERICA, IT WOULD BE SOO FUNNY XDD

All in all, I enjoyed like - every single damn word of this story and it's an amazing birthday gift! ! ! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH JENNY! ! *huggles* XD
