I'd like to think of it this way, but he was so blinded by his anger, which is sad. I'm glad that for even just that one moment Anakin Skywalker shone through. :')

I like how you changed how this went, but didn't really change it, if you know what I mean. I like reading these kinds of one-shots cuz they show the various points of view on certain parts of the movies. Seeing how conflicted Vader might have been about killing Obi-wan is something you don't really get to see in the movies, and you've shown it very nicely here. I wish that they'd edit the later episodes with flashbacks (something they're NEVER going to do) because I think it would give more meaning to them, like you've done here.

Fantastic job and I loved the last little bit, with Vader (Anakin) confessing something he probably never did. That he saw Obi-wan as a brother too. :)

Nice job on the ending. That last line was really sad, but very true.
