this was such a good story I'm glad you're continuing it, off the read that now.

This was fantastic! Going onto my favorites list for sure. Couldn't believe the ending but I love it bc it was unexpected. So glad there's a sequel.

Sorry for not reviewing each chapter but I love how Charles went back and forth about his feelings about the trip. Thank goodness for a long road trip that's given me the chance to read!

I like how each chapter so far ends with his onservation about the trip, and how his assessment keeps changing. Elsie has him tied up in knots! Great story! :-)

When we will see the end to this! I'm on the edge if my seat but it seems to be old.

After months without any fanfic reading I finally could come back and read the last 4 chapters! Don't need to tell you again how much I love your stories and how much I love this one in particular, right?
Their lovemaking... uhdpsdjçfmflgsdfndsjgdj! All the feels for it. I'm happy that they finally had their night together and I'm quite envying it! LOL
The last chapter smashed my poor heart in 1000 of pieces. What the hell happened? Why they are not together? You are so mean! lol Well, at least I have another whole fic to read and find out! x
Love it, like it was possible not to.

I have a ton of guesses about what happened and a lot of them revolve about a certain butler at Holbrook. Poor, poor Charles. He must be so heart-broken. Im glad youre continuing this and that youre incapable of writing anything but a happy ending. (Its the bit in-between I fear ;)

I'm going straight to St. George's Day as this ending has left my heart in an absolute wrench. Sniffle.

What? Nooooo! You can't leave us here! This is the meanest time jump ever. I'm so sad now for the both of them. Whatever happened truly changed Charles and I think this is a perfect backstory to explain his character and why he's so adamant about some things. But then more heartache when Elsie arrived. The poor thing didn't know he was still there!

And since my fave game is guessing, I'm gonna guess Elsie did get pregnant back then and lost her child. Or maybe she had it and she was kicked out. Or there are missing letters somewhere. Ahh! I just wanna know what happened. So looking forward to read the next installment.

I cannot believe the turn of events! I have so many conflicting feelings in this chapter that it's not even possible to mention them all.

I am very anxious to hear Elsie's excuse for the twelve year lapse and the fact that she said she didn't realize he would still be at Downton shattered my little heart.

I hope you will update soon because I NEED some answers. lol

This ending is an absolute no go! And you know that! I hope you were referring to this quote on your profile page "I am congenitally unable to do sad endings in fanfic. There are enough sad endings in real life." Because I can't imagine Charles being so bitter that he would try to avoid everything that involves Elsie. Not after he had kept her alive in his dreams for 12 years. Curious about what has happened 12 years ago and why she had hurt him.

This backstory is certainly one of the best and it gives their relationship a whole new meaning.

It is a good thing you are 'unable' to let fics end sadly...

Can you believe I was spluttering by the end? And screaming: IKNEWIT! Because I knew it. I knew this was not going to end well for them. But what happened? Did Elsie leave Holbrook House? (nice Miss Matty reference btw) Did they not write each other? (which would be very As Time Goes By) Did the thing Elsie really didn't want, happen anyway?

Ugh.

So many questions. But a great chapter, as always! Looking forward to the next fic in the arc!

Wow that's quite a chapter! Your writing is so fluid and pleasant even when the contents of Charle's thoughts are not. How the hell did they get from here to there in 12 years! When their love and attraction was so strong...That is also what I wonder. Please update sooner rather than later!
